In what is a precursor to come, very warm and humid conditions may lead to more scattered thunderstorms
this afternoon and tonight.  High temperatures will be close to 90° in Philadelphia and across the
Lower Delaware River Valley and above it by mid-week.

As of the noon hour, scattered storms can be found along the southern New Jersey coast such as near
Atlantic City and Wildwood, but none near Philadelphia.  Again, the threat of more storms in the
City of Brotherly Love stands a 30% chance. No severe weather watches have been posted as of the time
of this post, but it might change as the afternoon progresses.

It's a hot and humid day, and we are just at the beginning of a long heat wave. Not much precipitation is expected in the days to come either, so we will likely not get any temporarily relief from storms.

Today is the first in a two day long hot and humid airmass. Heat indices this afternoon are expected to reach as high as 105º, and about 102º for tomorrow. We will see relief from the heat Thursday as temperatures will be a good 15º cooler.

For this weekend, we will be seeing somewhat unseasonably warm temperatures. Tomorrow especially, as we may reach the 90's. In addition to the warm temperatures it will also be humid. This weather pattern is expected to continue through midweek. We might see some precipitation from the low pressure system offshore from the southeastern US before it gets absorbed by a frontal system on Monday. By midweek a cold front should move through the area. Fair weather and more seasonable temperatures should then take control by the end of next week.

A cold front will move through the region this evening. This will bring an end to the high humidity we've been getting in recent days. Much cooler air (check out the lows for tomorrow and Thursday night) will then dominate the region for the remainder of the week.

I fixed an inaccuracy on the hour-by-hour. I forgot to change the wind data for the 6AM forecast.

It's a chilly morning here in South Jersey. I had to close some of my windows and get an extra blanket out. It should warm up to the 70's and 80's this afternoon, giving me nice weather for my day off. Tonight is not expected to be as cool as it was early this morning.

Tomorrow the temperatures will be warmer, much like August than September. Highs will be in the 80's for the rest of the week and for this weekend. No precipitation is expected over the next week or so.

Temperatures tonight will still be cool, but not as chilly as it has been in recent nights. Lows tonight for most of the area will be in the mid-upper 50's.
