My spring break begins with areas of gusty winds. A wind advisory was issued yesterday and was initially effective until 2PM this afternoon. The advisory had since been discontinued due to winds not being as strong as originally expected. The NYC area and northern New Jersey are still under a wind advisory until 5PM this afternoon.

Some snow showers are possible here late tonight, with slushy accumutations no more than an inch. Easter sunday looks dry with temperatures near average for this time of year.

After seeing below average temperatures, it's going to be another pleasant day today, with highs in the 60's.

New to this report is an almanac. This will only be used in occasions where we would see abnormally high or low temperatures or precipitation. This new page is still a work in progress, so some changes may be made to it in the near future. Any suggestions or feedback on this new screen are welcome and appreciated.

Ugh, more rain today and tomorrow. :( It's going to be warm tomorrow though, with highs in the low 70's. I'll have a full report coming tomorrow.

It is an unseasonably warm day across much of the mid-Atlantic and northeastern United States as temperatures
are at least 10° above normal for the first half of April. The latest readings at this hour are 70° or above in many
locations across much of the lower Delaware River Valley. Interestingly, it is a little cooler in the southern portions
of the Philadelphia metropolitan area than in northern areas.

This warm spell will be ultra short lived as showers are expected to roll in during the overnight hours and
into tomorrow with cooler temperatures.

THE WEATHER OBSERVATIONS POSTED BELOW AREN'T CURRENT. THEY ARE FROM 80 MINUTES AGO.

For the second time in three days, unseasonably warm weather has made its presence felt in Philadelphia
and across much of the Interstate 95 corridor. High temperatures are expected again to be well into the 70s
for much of the Lower Delaware River Valley. But it will cool off by tomorrow as readings will be 10° to 15° cooler.
So enjoy the pleasantly warm weather that I'd bottle for July and August.

I have not added the transparent byline on the photo yet, but to give the appropriate copyright credit,
the current conditions graphic page background is by phillyphotos at Flickr.

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to time restraints, I was unable to gather the latest weather observations and forecast information
for my northeastern United States regional weather maps. So, I'm only posting the metropolitan area maps.

Although cooler than average, it's still a nice, dry day today after seeing wet and somewhat humid weather in the past few days. We are expected to have dry weather up until early next week. Temperatures are forecast to warm up throughout the week.

Some areas may dip below the freezing mark tonight and tomorrow for the first time in awhile, so we could see some frost here and there, especially tomorrow (which happens to be the first day of Frost/Freeze Warning season for the Delaware Valley).

Today is the warmest day thus far this year as highs have reached the 80's. This is about 20° above average and is the first time we got this warm since late October of last year. We are far from breaking any records, however.

For the better part of the last 10 to 15 days, we've seen above normal temperatures for this second half of April.
Therefore, it's been unseasonably warm. Today is one of those days. At this hour, readings are primarily in the 70s
with forecast highs nearing 80° in the warmest locations.

This is pretty much a very serene spring afternoon in the City of Brotherly Love and across
the Lower Delaware River Valley. Many of the forecasted conditions across the Philadelphia metropolitan area
are quite boring and uniform. However, it is a great time to go enjoy the weather because changes are in store
come this weekend when the chance of rain arrives. Temperatures will finally cool down to around seasonable levels
by early next week.

The graphics pages will be done as soon as possible.

Today turned out to be a nice afternoon after a morning of some light rain showers. Temperatures are lower than average, but we definitely deserve this after the summer like weather we've had within the better part of the past two weeks.

A Frost Advisory is in effect tonight for eastern Pennsylvania (excluding Philadelphia and Delaware County), and for the Pine Barrens in New Jersey.

Not even a week ago we were enjoying the 80's... now where about 20-25° below average for this time of year as a coastal low is bringing a heavy band of showers to the area. Most of South Jersey is under a Coastal Flood Warning. There were also Wind Advisories and High Wind Warnings out, but they've been cancelled as of 4PM this afternoon.

The rain is expected to diminish by midnight, followed by a decrease in clouds and fair weather for the next two days.

Today was a windy and cool day, and we'll see more of it tonight. We'll see a brief period of steady rain tomorrow, which should diminish by the evening hours. The rest of the week will continue to be below average, with weather conditions generally dry. Right now the Memorial Day weekend calls for dry weather, with highs in the upper 70's-low 80's. Hopefully the forecast stays that way, as I might head down to the beach (Wildwood Crest, NJ) this weekend (where it will be in the upper 60's-mid 70's).

Lows overnight tonight will be in the mid-upper 40's, which is about 10° below average. Philadelphia's record low for tonight is 41° (1973), so we'll likely not break any records but we'll be close to them.

It's another very warm and perhaps the most humid day so far this year, as dew points are well into the 60's. I've included a dew point map in this post. A cold front will move through tonight bringing thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. If anything interesting pops up this evening, I may post another update.

A severe thunderstorm watch is currently in effect until 8 PM tonight for areas north and east of Philadelphia, including Trenton, Doylestown, and Allentown.
