And I'm probably the only person here who says "I don't even care anymore." :D

It's not that I don't care, but we're powerless to the changes. The passage of time inevitably leads to change, and there's plenty of it going on at TWC and even in our own lives. I'll be happy if I turn on the network one day to see the TWC that was around in 2010, but I don't honestly expect that. I remember all the complaining even back then, but compare TWC in 2010 to TWC now and the rate of change is much greater today. It's disappointing, but I understand now that the more it changes, the less the likelihood is that TWC we want will magically return. That's why I don't like it but unfortunately have to accept it.

So this is the FiOS metro map in Tampa.. I want to know why more than half of the map is water?
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

I'm a big beach bum, and I think the map looks cool with a lot of water on it. It's more colorful than just green-brown. Also, Tampa is a coastal city, you know.  :P Most maps are centered on the area it focuses on, and I think that's why it's so centered on Tampa, even if it includes the ocean.

So this is the FiOS metro map in Tampa.. I want to know why more than half of the map is water?

By default, the home city for the Star is located in the center of the screen.  If the city's on a coast, then, naturally, one half of the screen will be land and the other half will be water.

When I moved to Daytona Beach in the middle of 2011, I noticed that my IntelliStar's maps had the same problem yours has.  I asked the Star team here in this forum to make an adjustment to show more land, and now the map is 90% land and 10% water.  In other words, they just moved the map further to the west to show more land and more cities.

Last year, we got the HD feed on my cable system with the IntelliStar 2, and, once again, Daytona Beach is in the center of the half-land/half-water map.  Unfortunately, the Star team told me it's a very different process for changing the map view on the IS2, and so there really wasn't much they could do for me at that time.  I assume nothing's changed since, which is why I have no intention of repeating my request.

It's not that I don't care

FWIW, I still care somewhat (not as much as I used to, granted).  Of course, I don't watch TWC nearly as much as I did in the '00s; my TWC-watching is primarily relegated to severe weather events or times when nothing else is on.  Now, if I had only a plain-Jane cable package in which TWC was the best available channel, then I suppose I would watch it a lot more.  Even if I don't like (or don't care about) some of the changes to the LFs, it's still an interesting "soap opera" of sorts nonetheless to see whether a K-flavor gets played or whether any instrumentals are played.

I had a feeling this would happen eventually-- as of this morning all of the LFs during DP are now 60-seconds in length, joining WCL and all of the weekday morning shows

I'm still grateful that Weekend View has K Flavors.

I now think there are no more K flavors. So now all LF's are 60 seconds, except for that one after Weather Classroom.

i posted in the graphics thread the k and l flavors on weather classroom have been replaced with the 60 second locals.

That's a shame. I'm just guessing that this is a transition to an end to the LOT8's as we know it. They only get shorter, which often foreshadows change.

Have you guys ever noticed that on the text based forecast, when the high or low temperature ends in a "0" or a "5", it will read "around" or "near", for example, "High around 60" or "Low near 50." That's a pattern I've been noticing for several years.
