No more 2-minute Flavors at :28 and :58 each hour during Weather Center Live.
I'm a weatherman. I love my weather. I would love to go any trips if the weather is nicer.

Wow, this must officially be the end of the 2 minute flavors then. 2 minutes has always been the longest amount of time possible for the LFs since J flavours were discontinued in the late 90's.

IMO, this shouldn't be the case.  Now the National Feed no longer shows the city-by-city 5 day forecast (3-day on SD), which leads to a greater lack of information.  Bad move.

Not too sure on the SD feed, but the 5-day forecast is shown on 1:00 LFs on the HD feed

There's no city-by-city forecast on 1:00 flavors on the SD feed.

Well, that's strange.  Because they're not shown on the 1:30 flavors on HD.  They show the region-by-region radar and single day forecast, then the national thunderstorm map and precip map or severe weather warnings if any are in effect.  No city-by-city 5-day is shown.

Here's the HD flavor lineups:

2:00
region by region (6 regions, 1 slide for radar, 1 slide for forecast) > precip forecast (subject for preemption if watches/warnings active) > thunderstorm forecast (subject for preemption if watches/warnings active) > 5-day forecast (4 slides, 6 cities per slide)

1:30
region by region (6 regions, 1 slide for radar, 1 slide for forecast) > precip forecast (subject for preemption if watches/warnings active) > thunderstorm forecast (subject for preemption if watches/warnings active)

1:00
national radar > national forecast > precip forecast (subject for preemption if watches/warnings active) > thunderstorm forecast (subject for preemption if watches/warnings active) > 5-day forecast (4 slides, 6 cities per slide)

Thanks Zach, that clears things up!  All I am saying is that I think the 5-day forecast is important, so I am not a fan of the 1:30 flavor.  (But I know it's going to sound pretty strange if I say I prefer a 1-minute flavor over a 1:30 one. :fear:)

I still remember the 2008–(I think) 2011 SD satellite LF product playlists:

DE (60s): Precipitation Forecast/Thunderstorm Forecast/Severe Warnings, 6-region Regional Forecast, 4-region Radar/Satellite
K (90s): Precipitation Forecast/Thunderstorm Forecast/Severe Warnings, Daypart Forecast, 6-region Regional Forecast, 4-region Radar/Satellite
L (120s): Precipitation Forecast/Thunderstorm Forecast/Severe Warnings, Daypart Forecast, 6-region Regional Forecast, 4-region Radar/Satellite
M (120s): Precipitation Forecast/Thunderstorm Forecast/Severe Warnings, Daypart Forecast, 3-day Forecast, 4-region Radar/Satellite

Just one more reason why I'm glad don't watch TWC anymore. :-D

BTW, if the 2 minute flavors are discontinued, then the IntelliStar playlists should be modified so all of the products can still be shown. AQ, dayparts, and radar/satellites don't show regularly on the 1:00 or 1:30 playlists.

I wonder why they feel the need to shorten the LF's. More ad time, I suppose?

Not many good changes lately, but as Patrick reaffirmed earlier, TWC's just going to do what gives them money in their pocket. If they were losing money before, then what is there to lose by changing things?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if TWC became a channel one would find on channel 180 instead of 14. With today's technology, one can find all the weather info they need online or on their phone. The need for TWC just isn't what it once was, and they need to work around that to still profit.

Just got this email today.

Programming has temporarily gone to shorter locals during certain time periods of the day. This is not permanent but will be for an extended time for now.

Keywords right there, I don't get where this whole thing about 2 min. flavor lineups being permanently removed came from when it's only been mentioned this change has happened during WCL and DP. This is really no different from what they did almost 3 years ago back in July 2009 when they reduced LFs then also during certain times of the day.
