...so the ad crawl on the squeezeback is new?

Yep, but that's about it and modified some of the forecast products and fonts.

At least it looks a little better than it did back when it first started. Our IS2 is down still (for a month) so I don't know what it looks like on the HD version.

Also, the logo overlay is the same one that was seen on TWC HD for the LDA/LDA LDL combo from March 2010 through September 2010, instead of the rotating TWC, TWC Mobile, and weather.com seen on 2:00 locals for satellite viewers

What bull. It might not be a permanent thing, they're just be using it to gain views for Coast Guard Alaska and they might stop after about a week or so.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

I doubt it has anything to do with CGA promotion.

Well yeah, hopefully they end the L-Bar and use it during Long-form programming instead. I can't tell much because I've only watched one LF of it.
If they were doing this to get a few more commercials in like they did several months ago, they would cue it on the 0's. So it would be Local on the 0's  :D

Or maybe ppl were complaining about the rock music so they are using the LBar as a means of showing fewer full screen lfs and in turn, fewer opportunities to notice the music change

I really think it's just so when they have extended coverage, they can save time by having shorter forecasts and more airtime. At this point I don't care about them having the sqeezeback cut back on LFs. I don't watch TWC that much nowadays anyway except at times when they bother to give a damn about doing severe weather coverage.  <_< Today can be an exception since there aren't any warnings out and haven't been for a while.

It's really a shame to see TWC shooting themselves in the foot. But with the shit music they play nowadays, I doubt it makes any difference

Guys, I think the return of the L-Bar/squeezeback is for good. ;)  Remember several months ago when they removed it, the reason being for "little tweaks?"  Well, I think the addition of the ad-crawl, and whatever else they changed, are the "little tweaks" they did.  Why it would take that long to ad an ad-crawl and make many miniscule tweaks is beyond me.

What I don't understand is why TWC is only showing this 2 times an hour.  Maybe it is still in a "beta test" and will soon be implemented?  Also, from the videos you all posted, I noticed that they are showing an ad in the video screen section instead of live coverage.  Seems odd to me, unless TWC is now despearately relying on more ads, but I will admit that a squeezeback with live coverage was very distracting.  What do I focus on?

I think you got that mixed up with full-screen locals.. the squeezebacks are 4 times an hour. ;)

Oops.  :P  Well, that make more sense then.

Two more things I don't like:
1. I wish they would bring back the rotating logo (TWC, weather.com, TWC mobile)
2. Though I don't want a debate on this, I wish the clock was back.

I never saw it until the squeezebacks were reintroduced and slightly retooled.

You upset, Mike? :P

To my knowledge, the squeezeback was not used during WCL this evening.  I think this was the case before, so what are the shows that use it?  IMO, as much as we all hate it, I think TWC should be consistent with its use.  Either use it for all programming, or not at all.
