Saw the rare thundersnow icon this morning during the LF. Unfortunately, by the time the next LF came around, the location was no longer reporting thundersnow.

Agreed. The new background just looks weird when used with the maps, but it fits the other screens better.

The reason it's not showing now is because the background failed during the transitions, don't be surprised it if reappears soon.

For those that didn't hear, Mattoon's WeatherSTAR XL crashed :cry3: late Wednesday night (3/16) and was replaced by a WS 4000 unit Thursday Morning. The Area Director of Mediacom made it sound like the 4000 is temporary until they get a replacement unit to replace the XL. We will see..
Until then, enjoy some Weatherstar 4000 clips..

This is when the unit was first initialized and did not have all of the correct info and maps.

How interesting!  I used to have "nightmares" when our 4000 was replaced with an XL over a decade ago that, for whatever reason, the XL would again be replaced with a 4000!

How interesting :thinking:. I guess they decided to go with the "ancient" 4000 unit. I assume they don't have the funds for an IntelliStar. :thinking:
