PennDot has a long term plan to expand I-376 from it's current designation (eastern suburbs of Monroeville/Plum/Penn Hills to Downtown) to go all the way to Pittsburgh Int'l Airport and re-designate parts of I-279 and PA-60 north all the way to I-76 in Mercer county. Recently, the first rounds of changes happened, by changing I-279 from Downtown to I-79 to I-376. What I find interesting is that the traffic.com products haven't been updated yet - but the flows on TWC have. Here's a screen shot from the New Ken Weatherscan. I'll get screen shots from the other STARs tomorrow.

In this picture - the I-79 route used to read "I-279/Parkway West to Bridgeville." You can see how it differs. The screen shots I'll post tomorrow have more substantial changes.

About 50 minutes ago, my IntelliStar rebooted, but with the wrong ID # (22207) which is for Marietta, instead of (22204) which is for Downtown Atlanta. Should I tell the STAR team about this or should i wait a few days and see if it's fixed on it's own? The configuration is not all that bad, but since I do live much closer to the Downtown Atlanta area, I like to have that one back.

Hmm, I would wait a few daze (2 or 3). Speaking of the STAR team, I wish they would change my forecast titles. I do like the one you are receiving, Tavores.

Wow, you're having the same issue I'm having right now, Tavores. For the past month I've been getting 21865 instead of 21872.

Yeah, I knew something was going to be different when it rebooted, the same thing happened to my Weatherscan unit at the beginning of the year when it rebooted.

Looks like you're just getting the wrong unit. Your default unit may be temporarily out of service, so you are seeing this unit in place of your normal one.

Does the STAR team make these changes or are they just added automatically?

The IS isnt going to be changed for a long time. I dont know why people keep thinking its ever gonna change. Just because TWC hasn't made any changes in a long time doesn't mean they are going to do something. There really is no need to change it. I know a lot of people here dont like it in its current state but its stable and sufficient for what TWC needs. I would be very surprised to see any significant changes to the IS in terms of the hardware or software. A graphics upgrade isn't really needed in my opinion. Unlike the other stars, the intellistar is a remarkable system that wont be quickly changed or removed as previous systems. I can easily see the IS being used for 7+ years without a hardware upgrade.

All changes are made manually by the STAR team.

Oh ok. I always wondered if the IS just automatically took traffic data from a database. Its quite interesting traffic.com wasn't updated before TWC.

Yeah, apparently the IntelliStar has been using its internal playlist, which shouldn't happen unless there's dual-feed weather coverage.

I thought I was the only one who heard "Rainbow Seeker" play this morning, funny thing I was going to record that LF forgetting that WUWA playlist starts then.
