REMNANT LOW OF GASTON...WHICH IS LOCATED ABOUT HALFWAY BETWEEN THE
CAPE VERDE ISLANDS AND THE LESSER ANTILLES.  ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS ARE CONDUCIVE FOR GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT...AND A TROPICAL
DEPRESSION COULD RE-FORM DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS THE
SYSTEM MOVES WESTWARD AT AROUND 10 MPH.  THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE
...60 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE AGAIN
DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

This storm is funny...it shows signs of developing into a hurricane, dies, and now it's likely to come back to life again. I guess this is still something to keep an eye on.

It simply ran into an environment where there was too much dry air or shear to cause all the convection to fizzle out.  Now, it's in a better environment to develop, and it may indeed regain its status soon.
