Logo ideas

I'm working on creating a mass array of twc today logos that'll go along with the forums and possibly the site... for instance, you'll see a semi modified version of the logo for storm alert mode, Winter Weather Storm Alert, among other major TWC events... and also I want to create some for the holidays.... However I need your help!

What I need are some major TWC event ideas to create forum logos for... for instance, I'm already working on a Tropical Related Storm Alert logo, a Winter Weather Storm Alert logo... What other major TWC events are there to create logos for?

Also, what other holidays should I create a logo for? I've created the Christmassy-December like logo... What others do you all recommend?

Also! feel free to contribute some images here in this thread for use when I create them, this way, everyone will have contributed. I feel this is a good idea  B)

Here's my idea of what the main forums logo would look like at any given time that it isn't a twc alert/event mode or a holiday...

There is a fade in here from white to clear, it just may not be very visible on such a light background, but it's there...

Let's see...we've got Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween covered...how about an Independence day logo (maybe stars and stripes or something)? Maybe something for St. Patricks Day (clovers?). Easter? Maybe something for a heat wave? Those are usually significant.

I'll get started on something for Valentine's day next week as that's the next "holiday" coming up... Bet you can't wait to see a pink TWC Today logo, lol...
Next week I'll work on some significant ones for twc like maybe heat wave or IMPENDING DOOM! or something, lol

Here's my idea for the storm alert forum logos for Tropical Storms and Hurricanes....

For each event, I would create a logo for the forums for that specific event... I'll work on the Winter weather ones soon

at the moment, these two are just drafts until I get opinions and some (doable) suggestions...

Wow! :thrilled: With all these different logos, TWC Today will certainly have even more variety and pizzazz as it enters a new era! :biggrin: Great job on the logos, Jesse. :clap: I can't wait to see what else you will come up with. :)

I think you all have mentioned all the major holidays. Are ones like Memorial Day/Labor Day too "secondary" for a separate logo? :dunno:

Also, though this is totally up to Gary and not me, I don't know if the regular "TWC Today Forums" logo should have the word "forums" in it because it doesn't match the holiday logos (unless you want to add the word "forums") there too. But then again, it will let people know that they're at the forums and not just the main site. So I don't know, I'm kind of just thinking out loud.

OK. Here is my list so far... strikeouts indicate completed logos.

  • main
  • New Years
  • Valentine's Day
  • St. Patrick's Day
  • Easter
  • 4th of July
  • Halloween (contest?)
  • Thanksgiving (contest?)
  • Heat Wave
  • Winter Storm Alert
  • Tropical Storm Alert
  • Hurricane Storm Alert

Any others I should possibly work on? For the ones that have (contest?) next to them, should there be contests for them? If so, I'll happily put the original PSD up for people to work with as a template...

To answer this question, next year's holiday logo will have the word forums in there... this one I have up now was done within an hour's work to get a holiday logo up. It looks good so I kept it, lol. If I wanted to, I could stretch it apart and put "forums" in there...

I already have a logo for Halloween. I suppose if it comes down to it we could have a contest for the Thanksgiving logo, but honestly I'd be content to simply use whatever you think up.

IMO, since there are several national holidays (Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, etc) we should just have one patriotic logo for use with all such holidays that has an American flag background or something. Just my two cents..
