Day Planner HD launch coming up...

Well, there's no keeping vigil for me tonight; I have no choice but to get up earlier than usual and watch the Day Planner HD launch. I have to wonder if they'll use the desk turned toward the projector wall like they did on Dolly landfall day or if they'll use the little desk like they do on Weekend Now. I guess we'll all see tomorrow.

Day Planner may also wind up covering the Edouard landfall if it winds up happening the way it's projected to, so that'll be interesting. I may have to work, though, but I'll certainly try to record the landfall.

I can't wait for the launch, hopefully they'll use a different background than all the rest, even though i'm not sure what backgrounds that haven't used are left to offer, I'm thinking maybe they'll do an EEWC layout with the day planner logo behind them.  :thinking:

So, Day Planner in HD has began, and they are indeed doing the show from the big desk, which is turned facing the projector wall just like it was for Dolly day. Also, Cheryl is in for Kim today since Kim had to fill in for Nicole, who is out for the Hurricane Hunters right now.

Jeez, Cheryl really looks dolled up for the appearance.

Cheryl looks different in HD.


What I meant by that is that she looks darker, and I almost couldn't recognize her.

I can picture it in 16:9.
The HD Studio is darker,
and her hair is different, I coudn't recognize her until I heard the voice. ;)

Is it just me, or have they rotated the desk so that they're now doing the show from in front of the PM Edition/Weekend View backdrop?

Are you sure that's a backdrop and not a video wall? On the weather.com studio tour, the backdrop in the interview area is different than what's shown on the air.

Master controlled Day Planner is still in SD, likely until Weather Center goes HD. Also, for some reason they're using the Evening backdrop, and their not even supposed to use that backdrop on weekdays anymore.

I guess they forgot to put it up yesterday again on PM Edition. Last Monday they had the side evening backdrop up for the first hour or so of Day Planner.

The EE backdrop WAS on PM Edition yesterday. ;) Heck, it was on Weather Center, too.
