The late nights are wearing on him... He just started getting giddy about the flooding along the Ohio River. He had to check himself by saying "It's really not a laughing matter". Even after that, though, he kept grinning throughout the entire segment.

Edit: I just tuned in at that point. For the remainder of the hour, Rich kept the grin beaming on his face and kept chuckling, and during the final segment, Sharon was laughing as well as she talked about playing Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who would talk first during the segment. What kind of fumes are they breathing in the studio? I wonder if they've been giddy all night like this. Time to find out.

I haven't watched EEWC much tonight but they do seem a little punchy again tonight. Particularly amusing was both of them chuckling (coming out of a Forecast Earth segment, haha) with Rich's sporting a bright red face. And now Sharon warns us not to go anywhere unless it's the refrigerator because they'll be back in just two minutes.

I like the lightheartedness but seems a bit out of character for both of them...

LMAO @ Dave's props (you KNOW this is Dave's idea and Viv is just along for the ride, haha). "First Day of Spring apple" is great, although not quite as epic as the stuffed animals he and Hillary had for Groundhog Day a few years back.

Heather Tesch, Sharon Resultan, and Vivian Brown.

Jen and Steph are hot but not quite my type.

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Schedule

I'm too lazy to type out a full schedule but I think it is ESSENTIAL that overnight outlook return. I know long form programming is here to stay (I'm OK with most of it right now except for Storm Stories and Forecast Earth). But in press releases TWC constantly talks about how its a "24/7" network. Uh, not exactly. There's what, 3-4 hours each overnight with no live programming? Especially during severe weather situations I think overnight programming is critical. Many local stations are off the air at the time and having TWC live with severe weather coverage would be nice. Hopefully OO makes a return in the future.

That sucks; I didn't get home until afterward. How did they do on their first day together?

BTW, Dave and Viv are together on WC today. At least I've got that to enjoy.

I saw a little of it. I thought they were a good pairing (although just about anyone with Dave is a good pairing). Talking about airport delays (160 minutes @ LaGuardia), Dave was said something along the lines of, "160 minutes? No thank you. I'll take the bus. Or bike." And then Betty: "I'll just walk." It was funnier than typing it out, trust me.

Unfortunately I wanted to work out so I missed most of it. Definitely better than Kelly and Betty, that's one of the most WTF pairings ever, IMO. I like both of them, but not together.

Everything Else TWC / Re: Where have you seen OCM's / TWC Talent?

Most OCM's at TWC look younger now than they did before coming to TWC. Unfortunately, that was Terry Connelly's (the former OCM boss) goal, to make the OCM's look younger and sexier. Which, by the way, I absolutley can't stand.  <_<

I actually have to disagree with you to a certain extent. I like Heather's makeover (she looks good!) and more importantly her presentation has evolved so much. It's not like she's wearing overtly sexy outfits. Like it or not, looks are part of TV. As long as they know what they're talking about, have a personality, and aren't taking the look too far (like wearing excessive jewelery...haha), I have no problem with it.

Sorry though, I'm taking this totally off-topic!

Yeah. How about the part when the commercial inturrupts her. Yeah, it's from the Bluebox

Best. Reaction. Ever. Most any other OCM would laugh/joke at getting interrupted by a Pepto Bismal commercial (even the 'uptight' ones). Or at least reference it in some way. But Sharon makes kind of a bitchy face, gives an annoyed "Hmph." and continues on. Somehow this cracks me up every time.

Adam and Warren are working together tonight. I don't know about everyone else, but Adam sort of reminds me of a younger Warren; both guys have a very "personable" presentation.

It was great to see Warren tonight and I agree, his presentation is very similar to Adam's. Which is a great thing...Adam Berg has become one of my favorite meteorologists on TWC and it's great to see him work with someone who has a sense of humor. I always seem to see him with Cheryl Lemke (not sure if that's the regular pairing), and while I respect her, she really has no on air-personality and has about a dozen cliches she absolutely needs to use a dozen times during her segments.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for or not but Heather Tesch was the weekday early morning met. at WCCO in Minneapolis in the late 90s and early 00s. And she was TERRIBLE. She looked a lot different (somehow ten years ago she looked twenty years older than she does now) but that was the least of her problems. She had the most awkward presentation ever and was always stumbling over words and didn't speak very clearly...her tone was especially weak. You can see some of this in youtube clips from the early 2000s. I can't emphasize how awkward she was, both in delivering the forecast and interaction with the anchors.

When she left I almost assumed she was fired, because she simply wasn't good at all. The other 3 morning mets on other stations were superior. Imagine my surprise to see her turn up at TWC, hosting YWT. I can't believe the transformation not just her looks but most importantly her presentation...a complete 180 turn. It's unreal and I've always wondered how she was able to so dramatically improve.
