Thunderstorms fixing to move in... Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued until 5:15 PM CT.
So much for that. The storms died down just enough to where it missed my neighborhood (it clouded up, but never rained), and it rained everywhere else.

Currently:

There's supposed to be a chance of rain coming next week with the high moving a little westward. We could use some rain to cool us down. Not like we need it after the flooding several weeks ago, but if this hot/dry weather keeps up, we'd be back in a drought again in no time.

I hate it when webpages in an error state display information like that to the public. Just that database name could open it up as a target for hackers to get into the mainframe.
Not really. A database name alone isn't exactly a vital piece of information that a hacker could use. I'm sure, also, as a governmental entity, that their site is pretty secure and safe from hackers. A hacker would need a lot more than just a database name to compromise the site.

Wow, this past Monday (June 25th) was the 5th anniversary to TWC Today's forums being opened.. guess we've all been so busy or just simply forgotten to remember the date. :hmm:
I was actually thinking about that earlier this week... I knew the anniversary was coming up at some point but I didn't realize it was Monday. Five years sure went by quickly!

How's everyone holding up in this heat? It sure is brutal outside!
I've just been staying inside practically all day with the A/C cranked up. It got up to about 103 according to my TWC weather thermometer. I went outside a couple of times, though, and it was awful! I might as well have walked into an open flame.

I'm surprised that Cox is on that list. We've actually had pretty good experiences with them over the years.

When did TWC begin the false advertising that they are Severe Storm Central? http://goput.it/auq.jpg

I think "Longform Programming Central" would be a more appropriate title. <_<

It won't be long until 2012 is halfway over, and it looks like we're in for a real heat wave this weekend.
We've already been dealing with the heat; just yesterday it got up to over 100 degrees by 1pm! Luckily it's not going to be that hot for the remainder of the week - only up to the low 90s or upper 80s. Today only got up to 87.

Is anyone else annoyed with the non weather travel segments added to last week TWC?
Why do we need segments on friends, families and couples traveling?
They have nothing to do with weather.
This is one of them airing on every broadcast,
http://www.weather.com/travel/hit-the-road/main

"Non-weather" segments have pretty much been increasing throughout the past 5 years alone. And at the rate TWC seems to be going recently, they seem to be adding non-weather related shows literally every week. I see promos for things like "Pyros", "Iron Men", and "Turbine Cowboys", and I think, 'What the  :censored: does this have to do with weather?'

It's exactly why I hardly watch TWC anymore these days.

It sickens me when I hear stuff like this. I don't understand how people can have the nerve to mistreat people (especially the elderly) like that, .

Kids and teens like those really need to learn how to treat people as they themselves wish to be treated. It's a simple concept, but apparently that's too much for some to grasp. <_<

I hope this doesn't come our way. The last thing we need here is more rain after the massive flooding mess we got just a couple of weeks ago.  :o

Fresh install of XP on my Dell Dimension 3000 desktop PC. I've been meaning to reformat this for quite sometime (several years, infact) because the install had become quite cluttered and very bogged down. I've been unable to do that until today because neither of the optical drives (CD-RW or DVD) would work, so I couldn't reinstall from my restore CD. However, recently I opened up the case and replaced one of the drives with one I cannibalized from my old HP Pavilion PC, which works perfectly fine. :)

Hopefully soon I will be purchasing a new monitor for this machine; a 10x7 screen just doesn't cut it these days.

They sell refurbished products that old in Apple stores? Never knew that
It's not an official Apple store; it's basically a computer repair shop that specializes in fixing up old Apple computers (they are an Apple authorized reseller) and sells them at discounted prices, although they do offer several newer models as well. They even had an iMac G5, a PowerBook G4 and several Power Mac G4 towers on display there as well.

Even though this MacBook is "old", it runs and looks almost as if it were new. There are no major defects in the case and no discoloration at all (which was pretty common in these models), and with the RAM maxed out at 2 GB, it runs OS X Snow Leopard quite satisfactorily. Depending on what I'm doing, I can easily get at least 2 and a half hours of battery life, which is nice.
