MAJOR Weatherscan Glitch
« on: August 17, 2011, 07:32:35 AM »
I woke up this morning to find that Weatherscan had gone nuts, once again. This time around, Weatherscan is jumpy. Meaning that every few seconds the video and the music will freeze, and then it will try to catch up with itself. This is not the case with any other channels, including TWC. This leads me to believe that it is a Weatherscan issue.

While I was typing this, the music and narration completely disappeared, and the video is still really laggy.

I sent a reboot command, hope that will help.

It's happening on Topeka's Weatherscan as well. Started yesterday late evening. I wouldn't call it major by any means on ours, though.

Edit: I misread your post earlier. Our is not doing what you said yours was doing. Ours is just jumping again like an old computer trying to run too many things at once.

Ours was definitely major. I recorded it this morning before I went to school, so maybe I can get a video up later. I came back home from school to see that it was fixed. I wish I could have caught the reboot, however. Thanks STAR Team!

Trevor, did you read the new rule that was implemented this morning about posting a STAR request?  I suggest you do so for future attempts.

I think what Martin means is that only requests have to get approval, however Trevor's topic is to report an issue.
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

As I understand the rule, requests for changes need to have prior approval, but reports of malfunction can be posted immediately.

Wasn't the original post reporting a malfunction?  Or, perhaps, maybe I misunderstood the new rule.

Did a reboot on Topeka and Spokane Wxscan units. See if this helps.

The rule only applies to requests (city changes, etc), not technical issues. This issue has been resolved so I am closing this thread.
