cox communications still with weather star xl

im in siloam springs akransas and i still have the weather star xl i wish they would upgrade to the intellistar
i wonder when they will do that

I have Cox here in Pensacola, FL, and they upgraded to the IntelliSTAR right when it came out in March 2004.

I can't imagine why anyone would actually WANT the IS. If I had the XL I'd hope they WOULDN'T upgrade.

Yeah, believe us, you DO NOT want the IntelliSTAR. Your very lucky. BTW, I thought Cox  had an agreement with TWC
to only use the IntelliSTAR platform, just as TimeWarner and Comcast do.

I had no idea cable companies could enter into such agreements. I thought they were always free to decide for themselves which STAR they preferred to use.

They are, but Comcast and Time Warner have agreements with TWC to only use IntelliSTARs. I thought Cox did too, but apparantly not.

You'd have to be carzy if you would want an XL to be replaced by an IntelliStar.

I *think* I remember reading that somewhere, but I'm not sure. I do know Cox upgraded my system rather quickly, as we got the IS sometime in early March 04 or late Feburary.

I'd love to have a WeatherStar XL! Does anyone know where else a WeatherStar XL, 4000 and/or Jr, is used today? Boy I hate the IS!Just one question, if Comcast had an agreement with TWC to use the IS then why do some areas such as Burlington, VT still have an XL? :-\

I'm waiting for DISH HD and the ability to see my LOCAL ON THE 8's with the DISH...heck, they can do it by ZIP CODE...c'mon it's 2007 for crying out loud!
