You know how they could make this even worse? Have a show within the movie like TNT or TBS does.

According to my guide, back to back episodes of Surviving the Elements will air from 1-4 AM on Saturday the 31st.

AFAIK, nothing is done by Master Control these days. It's probably an inexperienced person using OverDrive in one of the small control rooms
Isn't the overnight Weather Center and early Weekend View (4:30-7) mastered?

No, it's this guy (or somebody else on Monday and Tuesday) using OverDrive in a small control room.

Then again, it's entirely possible that Ed has been reassigned between now and then, but you get the idea. :P

Great, so they are now trying to do fewer weather coverage.   This is just like what happened to Cartoon Network since 2005.
Cartoon Network used to cover weather!? :P

No, I ment that Cartoon Network used to show cartoons, not weather. Cartoon Network now shows live action movies that are not animated.

Lately, alot of cable channels like Cartoon Network and most recently TWC are trying to add content that doesn't match the orginal content. Here's an example:

Cartoon Network -> cartoons then (now live action movies and mature shows)
Nickeloedon/Disney Channel -> family shows then (now stupid brain rotting stuff)
MTV/VH1 -> music then (now reality shows and celberty tabloid junk)
CNN/HLN -> news then (now talk shows)
Discovery Channel/TLC -> documenties and education shows then (now reality shows)
TWC -> weather forecasting then (now movies?  :wall: )
Classic TWC, Weatherscan, legacy WeatherSTARs, and classic Prevue/TV Guide fan.

Not to mention TWC becoming more of a news network than a weather network.

I understand why they're doing a movie night on Friday nights.  But, at the same time, I don't think it's a stellar idea.  And, to be honest, I don't see it lasting very long.  There aren't too many weather movies out there, to begin with.

But, we'll see.

:rofl2:  I totally forgot about "Groundhog Day!"  "March of the Penguins" might not actually be too bad, because they could talk about the extreme weather conditions in Antarctica.  And, it's a tear-jerker... At least for me!  As sad as it is, because it has no meteorological merit, "Twister" was one of the reasons I got interested in weather! I wanted to be a storm chaser...

How ridiculous could TWC could be? No offense, but this channel putting movies is RIDICULOUS. In fact, for one, TWC is a news channel, NOT A MOVIE CHANNEL. For those other news channels, CNBC, MSNBC, etc, they don't put any movies, but as for Darby's idea, this is very crazy IMO.

If this keeps up, someday or the other, TWC will go bankrupt.

You forgot the History Channel with all their futuristic shows about the end of the world and other future shows.
How about TLC with Jon & Kate +8 ?

Depending on what movies they show, I might like this. My other hobby is our home theater with a projector, 110" screen, surround sound and 8 leather recliners in the basement. Usually during severe weather warnings we go to the safest part of the house (the basement) and watch a movie.  :D

I have to admit, the only time I ever watched "The Golf Channel" was when they were showing the movie Caddyshack.

Yea Jennifer ( a producer at TWC) said it would be temporary. Lets hope so.
