I named the thread "jumped the shark" because that seems to be the most popular saying when something goes wrong. Although start to suck would be a little more accurate, yes.

Also, and I don't know for sure since I started watching twc in 2004, but didn't they show weather documentaries or primetime weather shows like Storm Stories back in the 90s before Atmospheres? I could have sworn I saw something on TWC's wiki page about it.

Umm, I hate to break this up, but we need to get back on topic.

I understand that TWC is doing "the worst things ever". But I've been told numerous time that IT JUST HAPPENS. TWC did what they had to do. I had a strong feeling that TWC was going to be put up on sale back then... and it did.  They were sold by NBCU. Of course, I hate the changes, I hate the stupid longform, I hate Al  <_<, I hate to see Steph and Mike on mornings... but you know what? get over it. Don't expect TWC to change back the way they were back in 2008 or so. "cuz that ain't happenin." The only things I'm interested about TWC is: 1. the weather in general, 2. Hurricane/severe weather coverage, 3. Chris Warren, and 4. Eric Fisher. :P

I hate to rant about this subject (I really do, especially that I'm in school now), but you just gotta have to get it out of the system.

My personal opinion, TWC has undergone it's own face-lift and it's not NBC's fault.

Also if TWC really regretted the direction they've been taking then they would've turned off the network for good eons ago.

Demographics are in TWC's favor especially from the twcmediakit website so we are just going to have to live with change or just turn off the network all together.

I asked because some people didn't like the term JTS. I will definately leave the title the way it is.

It wasn't really a rant I made, more like a debate I'm trying to start. Yes, I do miss the weather channel the way it used to be and think it needs some big changes. But I'm not crying over it. I barely get the chance to watch it most of the time. I  usually watch it whenever Cantore is on or if I am bored. I never get to see A&B ever anymore which kinda sucks (I liked them when they first started).

One thing that is good about all of it was that I got the chance to make fun of the situation and show some humor in my post. Can you imagine beer pong?

IMO, TWC has gone downhill since the earlier turn of the century but it was still very watchable. I wouldn't say TWC has jumped the shark until 2009 when NBC brought. While we all would love the old weather channel back, it will NEVER come back, so we have to deal with it. As the old saying goes, if you don't like it then don't watch. I really don't watch TWC anymore now, maybe to pop in an LF here and there to hear the playlist during the first week it starts. Other than that, TWC is dead to me.  We are just a minority of the audience base of TWC. The average viewer doesn't give a hoot as to what's on TWC, who got laid off, what weird song is on the LF, NBC ownership of the station, etc.

The way things are going, I bet there will be some sort of "weather-based" sports series in the future.
Hakeem: What's up, Jetsons!
Frank Mitchell: Jetsons?
Hakeem: Yeah, you and George got the same haircut.
