highly doubt it. it's their signature, kinda sorta. they love that sort of hype, so again highly doubt it.

the only reason why we haven't seen a storm alert lately is because TWC went back to their standards on what the qualifications are needed to go into storm alert, which is Category 3+ aka major hurricane.

also, storm alert was used just last year perhaps the year before.

Both occurred in September 2008

As for rumors dont post them unless you have a citation ;) that can cause flame wars on a lot of message boards

I know, this doesn't seem right to cancel Storm Alert but then again now that the station is owned by NBC, anything can happen.

From what TWC is doing now with its red L3rds and red LDLs (for DEPRESSIONS, darn it) I think SA, if it does still exist, will not "stand out" as much as it did before. Because what more can you essentially turn red? The whole screen?

So Storm Alert may not exist anymore because of this, but IDK.

the "Storm Alert" name is possibly gone, but you'll know TWC is in a "storm alert" when the studio turns red. That's the only true way to tell.

the graphics are red for breaking news and continuing coverage i would say if storm alert does still exist they will change the name from continuing coverage to Storm Alert at the banner insted of breaking news/continuing coverage and the red studio lights like for Gustav/Ike so we will have to wait and see i messaged some of the people at twc and some said Storm Alert was going to happen and some said weather or not we are in storm alert the coverage will be the same wall to wall for land falls we might find out in a week or 2 like i said

......then we shall find out whenever a major hurricane makes landfall somewhere. I'd say it's too soon to tell.

Maybe Martin can confirm if Storm Alert is indeed gone. The last time they went into Storm Alert was September 2008.

I haven't heard that its gone. I just think we haven't seen anything major enough to get the studio lights to red and the lf music going.

Remember that 2009 wasn't as active as predicted.
