The National LF is back as of today.

it returned yesterday, and today, DirecTV's LOT8s feature that overides the national LOT8s is working again

today, LOT8s returned, sort of, instead of the normal LOT8s, instead it`s a radar loop with the LOT8s music playing

edit: i meant the national satellite version of LOT8s, it seems the cable LOT8s are back to normal.

i wonder if TWC had any plans on a graphics overall since the current graphics are either 5 to 3 years old as they relaunched iin late fall 2013 and updated some of the graphics in 2015 or 2016.

cause this ransomware attack may force any graphics overhaul pay to happen early if they  did had a graphic update planned in the next 3 to 6 months

2 years after a fatal accident involving The Weather Channel hired storm chasers Kelly Williamson and Randall Yarnall that killed the both of them and National Weather Service hired storm chaser Corbin Jaeger, the family of Jaeger is suing The Weather Channel for the deadly accident which was caused when the car that Williamson and Randall were in brew a stop sign while speeding at 70 MPH on a intersection of 2 roads in Texas while chasing a tornadic thunderstorm. they were live streaming at the time they collided with
Jaeger's car causing the fatal wreck.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Dr. Greg Forbes retires
« on: March 22, 2019, 07:53:00 PM »
and he made good on his promise to work there part time starting with this Spring as today, i decided to check up on the severe weather in the Panhandle (as it will be affecting my area tomorrow morning/afternoon), and sure enough, there he is, covering the storms, but it looks like his cancer battle is taking a toll on his body as he don't look as good as he did a couple of years ago.

it's just good to know Dr. Forbes is back on TWC covering the severe weather tonight on Weather Underground with Mike Bettes and Alex

Since TWC is no longer partly owned by NBCUniversal, I wonder who they go to for local stories and reporters now?  Obviously in the past, we'd always see stories, video footage, feeds, etc. solely from NBC stations.  I'm just curious how this works now that it doesn't just have to be NBC.

that's a good question, i bet NBC put a stip in the buyout contract where NBC stations in markets where NBC owns the stations will still bring content to The Weather Channel unless they make a agreement with other companies.

that means if a big weather story happens in the DFW area, TWC would have to get footage from KDFW Fox 4 (owned by Fox), WFAA  News 8 (local ABC station that's owned by TEGNA), or KTVT CBS 11 (owned by CBS) or KDAF CW 33 once Sinclair Broadcasting completes the merger with Tribune Media and launches a true news team for KDAF unless KXAS NBC 5 which is NBC owned still has a deal to provide DFW weather coverage for TWC.

i predict it will have a huge budget cut, leaves Atlanta, Weather Underground the TV show gets canceled and the network loses it's must carry status under this new ownership, unless ES is willing to spin money on this as the have with their expensively produced movies like the recently released "Hurricane Heist".

all i know this may lead to WeatherNation getting bought out by Sinclair and they step up WeatherNation's game, since Sinclair at one point was looking to buy out The Weather Channel but have now failed to buy it out.

Sidebar now on during Commercials. Error or not?

not an error at all, i think TWC is pointing out the serious nature of Irma after what happened with Harvey a few weeks ago. and it's actually a good thing so i can keep up with what cat she is, how fast the winds are and where it's going without having to wait until they return from the commercial/LOT8s break.

here we F :censored: ing go again, this time, i expect Irma to force The Weather Channel to go wall-to wall for the next several days with hurricane coverage and the return of Black mode when it gets closer to Florida.

pray for everyone that will be impacted by Irma

anyway, after Harvey made landfall, they reverted back to blue early Saturday and then reverted back to black mode today due to the flooding event in Houston by Harvey.

looks like we got ourselves a major hurricane about to make landfall soon as Harvey, the zombie hurricane reformed yesterday and just became a hurricane today and is expected to become a cat 3 by Saturday as it will make landfall in Texas.

that means Weather Channel's already on Storm Alert mode with all the lights in the studio in red and the storm alert music playing during LOT8s.

i have heard of Ari, i believe he host "The Ari Affect" on Weather.com and the Weather Channel app. i think Jennifer maybe a part of the Weather.com staff too or she's on at a time i normally don't watch The Weather Channel.

i too have DirecTV (as a former Dish customer), yeah, DirecTV does have this feature to produce it's own LOT8, but DirecTV needs to update it to reflect on the current graphics too.

anyway, i see we are in the same county, Hunt County, TX

i'm from Campbell, which for those who aren't from the Hunt County area, is south of Commerce, east of Greenville.
