I've heard that Jim Cantore and Jeff Morrow were reporting on NBC Nightly News in another thread, so apparently that is why there are not many reporters stationed live for the Weather Channel; I guess if there is one thing I can unfortunately count on, it's the Weather Channel becoming worse and worse and going more mainstream.

If that is true, I'm guessing there are going to be a few less people watching TWC.  This would not be a good move for the Weather Channel's future.

I get the feeling that they've gotten rid of "Storm Alert."  Has it even been used since 2006?
Correct. It been used since 2006. It was actually last used August 31, 2006. Two years ago today.

Yeah, so my thought is that since they didn't use it for Dolly or Fay, they might have stopped using it altogether.

I think it was weekend evenings I was actually referring to.  I believe it was more random on weekend evenings depending probably on availability of OCMs.

Every one of these shows suck

Couldn't have said it better myself.  When they just had Atmospheres on for two hours twice a week, it wasn't bad, but in the last 2 years they have come up with so many special programs that I believe are just fillers so they don't have to hire more meteorologists.

Back in the early portions of this decade, in 2000 and 2001, what was the normal programming schedule and OCMs?  I remember some "classic" groups from those days, like Kristina Abernathy and Nick Walker, Cheryl Lemke and Rick Griffin, Jeanetta Jones and Rich Johnson, Dave Schwartz and Lisa Mozer, etc.  However, I know there were more from this time, and, especially in the late evenings, I remember the meteorologist shifts being very random, usually choosing between these meteorologists: Sharon Resultan, Kim Perez, Carl Parker, Dave Schwartz, Warren Madden, and maybe one or two others.  Does anyone remember if there were "scheduled" pairings for the evening or were they random most of the time like I mentioned?

That's ok, I will be just as happy with videos of ads from 2000 or 2001.

Can't wait to see those!  :twothumbs:

Same here!  I liked it when Travelwise was sponsored by Michelin, and all the sponsors were quite interesting; an eclectic mix like Kelly Services, Preen n Green, Red Roof Inn, etc.

There used to be sponsorship ads right after segments that lasted from 1998 to 2000 or 2001.  They showed the studio in the background, and usually contained a woman narrator.  Also, if anyone has any common commercials or advertisements from 2000 or 2001 that would be appreciated, as I myself have virtually nothing from that long ago.
