Windows XP on my desktop and Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion g7.  I was a big fan of Windows 98 and then years ago switched to XP and still liked Windows 98, but I really like Windows 7.

I had no complaints about Windows 98 at the time, but I'd never go back to it now.  :)

Until earlier this year, the central Florida TV market had two weather digital substations: NBC Weather Plus and an independently-created one.  NBC Weather Plus outlasted the actual weather network, but was closed to make room for Me TV, leaving the independently-created weather channel as the only one here.

Boston had NBC Weather Plus, too, but that closed immediately when NBC Weather Plus went off the air, and was replaced by Retro Television Network.

Oh boy! Looks like tomorrow night's winds are going to be monstorous. I just took a look at a few models. I wouldn't be surprised if the NWS issues a high wind warning. Might see gusts up to 70 mph. TWC is only predicting sustained winds of only 29 mph, which brings me back to the night of Dec 7th, where TWC predicted winds of 28 mph but we had sustained winds at around 40 mph.

The way you worded that reminds me of the hurricane that struck the Gulf of Mexico coastline during World War II.  Due to concerns the Germans would find out America's oil production area would be at risk, news about the hurricane was censored, even to most people living in the affected areas.  Needless loss of life meant that hurricane warnings were never censored again, war or no war.

I never liked using a Mac for anything.  Unfortunately for me, Macs were the computer of choice until halfway through I was done with high school.  (Before that, my schools used already-antiquated Apple IIe computers.)

Which operating system(s) do you use?  You can select multiple options.

Feel free to post more specific information if you want.

You guys would never experience a true Christmas living in Florida. To me, 80 degrees on Christmas is distgusting. It never gets me into the Christmas spirit. Just ask anyone else that lives up north.

I think the fact that I had to work on Christmas Day took the spirit right out of me.

I lived in northern climates for 29 years, and I do not miss the cold or snow at all.  80° weather doesn't seem very Christmasy, but I'd gladly have that any day over disgusting winter conditions.

Partly cloudy and 80° in Daytona Beach.  I'm not complaining about the lack of snow, though.  :)

Just before I went to work at 5:00 this morning, though, it started raining very heavily.  Thank goodness it started just before I left home - it gave me a chance to get my umbrella and raincoat!

New York State law prohibits smoking on school property. However, I see high school students smoking outside all the time at the end of the day, and administrators are right outside watching them, and don't even say anything!

The administrators are probably smoking out there with them!  At least that's what happened when I was in school.  :)

My guess is the police are...

- totally disinterested, and/or
- overwhelmed and incapable of dealing with the problem, so they ignore it, and/or
- have been "persuaded" to look the other way.

I'd move if I were you.  Seriously, I'd move.  Sadly, I don't think there's any legal remedy you can take without opening yourself up to illegal retaliation.

Do kids these days know what's meant by "SP," "LP," "SLP," and "EP"?  :dunno:  :bleh:
Probably not.

I love telling stories to children about televisions before remote controls, black-and-white televisions, typewriters (which I still have), vinyl records, dot-matrix printers...  I'm only 29 years old, but so much equipment that I've used in the past has become totally obsolete by now.
