Holy moly.  So far, I've been lucky living in central Florida for the past two years - we've only gotten skirted by a couple of storms, and nothing even remotely extreme.  I hope my luck holds out for this year, too!

Those are completely ugly graphics which provide so little useful information.

They predict an above average season every year.  <_< I think TWC wants an above average season, so they can overhype them.

...and then show longform about prior hurricanes on the day a major hurricane makes landfall, while "supposedly" airing live programming about the actual hurricane to "affected areas only." :censored:

Thanks.

I finally managed to get the derailleur on my bike properly, but that's when I discovered why I haven't been able to properly shift gears the entire time I've owned it.  It also has some other damage that can't be repaired at home, so it's time to send it to a bike shop for professional help.

As for my former friend... I have the eerie feeling that this is only the calm before the storm. :hurricane:

That's awful.  There really is no excuse at all for the Star to be out of service for three months.

Last night I got a puncture in my rear bike tire.  I managed to take the wheel off, replace the tube and tire fine, and get the wheel mounted again.  Now my only problem is the derailleur... and that is simply beyond my capabilities.  I'm not strong enough to hold the derailleur open and in position AND screw it in where it belongs at the same time.  I can do one or the other, but that's a senseless exercise, isn't it?

On top of that, I found out that my former so-called best friend used, betrayed, and abused me in ways I didn't even think possible, and, naturally, it's only my fault because I "allowed" him to do so because I naïvely didn't realize what he was doing until it was far too late.

And, last but not least, I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't fall back asleep.  I have to walk to work (since my bike's out of commission), work until 9:30 this evening, then walk back for another 35-40 minutes... and collapse into bed just to do the whole thing over again tomorrow.

Suffice it to say, this has not been a good day for Eric. :censored:

Every spring I collect money for the March of Dimes (I've collected over $1,900 so far this year) and every fall I collect for St. Jude's Hospital (I collected over $2,100 last year.)

My AP Chinese test is tomorrow.

I was a linguistics major, but even I wouldn't have dared tackle the Chinese language.  My congratulations!

My latest strange dream, which is why I'm awake at 3:30 in the morning...

I drove to the grocery store (I often drive in my dreams), but just as soon as I got out of the car I heard a tornado warning, so I jumped back into the car. By that time, though, there were two women and their kids in my car, and they insisted that I take them shopping and then home. During the ride their kids were beating me up from behind and the women were complaining about absolutely everything.

After a long and excrutiating ride I finally got the idea to call 911 and then pull into the parking lot of the nearest police station (the parking lot, for some reason, looked like the inside of a fancy hotel lobby). The police officers were my Kmart coworkers and characters from "The Office."

Incredibly immature and stupid for TWC employees to do something like that.

Sadly, I don't think they're given any choice... or, indeed, any input in the matter whatsoever.

That was a freaky problem and must have been annoying to look at.  Any idea what caused it?  How did you get it fixed?
