It's amazing to think they're already renovating their main studio after all the work and expense they put into it just a few short months ago.

From that video there is so much space on the right side. they could have Current Conditions for up to 2 cities in that whole spot.

I agree.  The local forecast segments are formatted specifically for 4:3, and the extra space in widescreen is left completely unused.  The local forecasts are already very lacking in products because they're only 60 seconds long now, and there's so much of the screen that has nothing except a pretty picture.

As short as the local forecasts already are, I think the clock and jokes are a tremendous waste of time.  They're completely, totally, wholly, thoroughly unnecessary. :club:

"As we move through the night"?  Certainly not in the NWS-issued forecast days, but now that TWC is writing the forecasts, I suppose anything's possible.

I do. I'm easily findable.

Not that easy.  I failed.

Does anybody on here have an instgram account? Just curious.
I do, follow me at @slickvic609 (as well as anyone else here who has IG). It is addicting, I gotta admit, even moreso than facebook.

Apparently, only those who already have an Instagram account can see your photos.

Local Forecast / Re: Weather STAR XL Replaced
« on: February 10, 2014, 12:19:35 AM »
Perhaps all the XL's are still being used, but the unit's graphics were just updated to v4?
I doubt it.

I thought I read somewhere that a location with a 4000 is also starting to do this. Don't quote me on that though since I can't remember where I saw it.

How could this possibly happen with a 4000?!

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Graphics coming to TWC

I preferred hearing the same two (or three) songs on the local forecasts instead of the vocal music.  I'm simply not a fan of the current popular styles, and hearing the song's lyrics competing with the forecast being read is very annoying.  To me, it's just another attempt by The Weather Channel to attract audiences by pretending to be a top 40 radio station.  And just think of the money they could save if they weren't paying those royalties...!

Way too close for comfort for my tastes.  Daytona Beach is only going to have rain and chilly temperatures (but that's what we've had practically all month), but, still, the thought of winter weather in my state makes me nervous.

Thank you. Looks like they shut down the study.

They usually don't last long.  If you sign up for an account on the website you'll get an email when the next survey is ready.  They don't come all that often, however.

I just got invited to take a survey on The Front that focused on DirecTV dropping TWC.  It asked some pretty obvious questions, including who I thought was more to blame, reasons why, and so on.

How did you get to take this survey? Is there a link?

I signed up for The Front a while ago, and they send emails whenever there's a new survey to take.

Never, ind the not naming winter storms hypothesis.  Because we now have warnings for the I-95 corridor, they've gone to Winter Storm Janus.

Allow me to introduce you all to Facepalm Jim..

I love Jim Gardner!  I used to visit Philadelphia every summer, and I always watched "Action News"!
