I saw him tonight, he was on. I know him best for talking South Florida through Hurricane Andrew in 1992. He, along with the news and sports anchors were in a safe room off the studio, at WTVJ, channel 4, the nbc affiliate in Miami at that time. I like him.  He said, "friends, here is what I want you to do: go get mattresses and bring them to your safe room and after you get there, stay there." He said something like that.

He's a good hurricane specialist. The next John Hope, maybe?

I would blame NBC. And also, the people who refuse to renew the ocm's contracts. Who's next? Jim Cantore, Vivian Brown? Perhaps Jeff Morrow?

Yep. That's her, all right. She is the one that gave me a tour of TWC 20 years ago this November. Some of the pictures of my tour there are on the twcclassics web site, I contributed them to Matt.

What is it with it saying "Happy Anniversary" on the show this week? Are they celebrating the 1-year anniversary of when this show first debuted? I do recall it making its debut on Monday, July 20, 2009.

This show, along with "The Climate Code" which was later changed to "Forecast Earth" with Heidi Cullen hosting are the absolute worst ever to air on TWC.  

NBCU has destroyed The Weather Channel.

In one case, I remember the song, but don't know the name, it was in a department store at a shopping mall, IIRC, in other cases, I don't remember the songs, but have heard them in malls and restraunts. I remember saying to my siblings and parents, "I've heard that music - The Weather Channel". All of these times were long ago and long before I had the knowledge of the names of the songs and artists. TWC Classics has taught me a lot about the names of songs, playlists and artists. All thanks to Matt.

Confirmed there are no other cuts as of now. Same situation as what happened with Lyons. They didn't "fire" him but didn't reup his contract

Well, why didn't they simply renew his contract? That's what they should have done.

I was told that he knows where every place is in the country. So, Martin, you're right, he is "like a walking atlas."

This is ashamed.
