General Discussion / Corona Virus
« on: March 13, 2020, 02:10:22 PM »
What are everyone's thoughts on this? It seems to be all we every hear about these days. No NCAA March Madness basketball due to it. It is impacting you, by that I mean can you not go to work or school due to everything being shut down?

General Discussion / My terminated YouTube account now I'm back!
« on: February 27, 2019, 09:21:30 PM »
As a few of you may know, in August 2017, my You Tube account was terminated due to a very bogus claim.  :furious: Most likely, some troller flagged my account. More than a month ago, I started a new one with the username I had before, ILovestorms. I am reuploading everything I have of classic TWC footage (190 uploads already and counting). If starting this topic was not appropriate here, I apologize. I'm just trying to spread the word.  ;) It's 194 uploads now. :)

General Discussion / Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, 8/21
« on: August 04, 2017, 03:32:28 PM »
Is anyone excited about the epic total eclipse that will happen on August 21st?

When I was at the Southeast Severe Storms Symposium at Mississippi State University 2 weekends ago, I met a married couple who are at TWC. Anyone heard of Ari Sarsalari and Jennifer Watson?

General Discussion / Fires in the Great Smoky Mountains, TN
« on: November 29, 2016, 02:08:33 PM »
Anyone keeping up with the wildfires in the Smoky Mountains? It's so sad.  :(

Local Forecast / Christmas With the Canadian Brass
« on: November 17, 2016, 04:54:07 PM »
I looked on, but can't find the album that TWC's Christmas playlist used. Can someone help?

This may not necessarily be "Hazardous Weather" but the repercussions associated with it such as water shortages and especially wildfires are definitely hazardous. Where I live in Alabama, we have gone a record 54th day with no measurable rainfall. There are similar conditions in Atlanta, Chattanooga, the Smokey Mountains and elsewhere in the southeast all the way to the gulf coast.

Local Forecast / Songs that didn't make the playlists
« on: May 18, 2016, 02:48:47 PM »
Anyone old enough to remember songs on albums of TWC artists that were never used? For example, the Rippington's album "Weekend In Monaco" also featured "High Roller", "Carnival" "A Place for Lovers" and "Moka Java".

General Discussion / R.I.P. Dr. William Gray
« on: April 16, 2016, 04:52:02 PM »
Dr. William Gray of Colorado State University, the forecaster of the annual Atlantic hurricane season and big time skeptic of man-made global warming/climate changed has passed away.

Everything Else Classic TWC / Prime Time Tonight
« on: February 27, 2016, 02:39:38 PM »
I started to put this in programming but was quite sure if it belonged there or here. Anyone (if you're one of the older members, age 30+) remember prime time tonight in the early 90s? I remember coming on in place of the J flavor local forecasts at :27 and :57 after the hour for a time.

Has anyone been keeping up with the severe weather outbreak of Tuesday and yesterday from the Gulf Coast to the Mid-Atlantic?

Severe Weather / Severe threat today

What's up with the severe threat today? Here's the threats by the Storm Prediction Center:

General Weather Chat / Lack of cold east of the Rockies
« on: December 14, 2015, 09:25:22 AM »
Why is there a serious lack of cold air in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains! It was nearly 80 degrees here yesterday and it doesn't feel like Christmas one bit! Not just here in Alabama, but some family in the Chicagoland area r having 60s and it feels nothing like Christmas there either. Is it El Niņo?
