The long-form programming is something I really don't like.  The local on the 8s doesn't come on, not even always at the top and bottom of the hour anymore. Ice Pilots, Lifeguard, Coast Guard Alaska...and now another show?! Cowboys, whatever it is. It's like any other channel and you have to wait until a certain time, just as you would for your local news.

I think what it is is that people can get weather information many other ways, right when they want or need it besides turning on the tv to the weather channel. Internet, apps, the iPhone, iPad, iPod, cell phone. Back in the 90s, you didn't have most of what I just said, those others ways that we have now.

Here it is Mike, I made a mistake about the regional map, it's only shown for the now conditions, but everything else I said was right.

I just wish there were a set time for this specific flavor, including the 4x4, both inland and coastal. The 4x4 was my very favorite thing about the IntelliStar. I miss it.

OCMs / Dave Schwartz' "Current Conditions"

I have some information that may be useful for the page on the twcclassics site under former OCMs and their "current conditions". Dave Schwartz, according to his facebook, is a salesman at Macy's at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta. He has been since November 2009.

Just FYI, I am sure many are curious about him since everyone seems to like him. Of course, this is not in the field of meteorology, but I thought people would like to know what he is doing now. I am sure some of you might have already known this, but I thought this would be helpful info.

I have noticed that, at least with the IntelliStar flavors, nearly all of them are the same. The metro maps are used in almost every one of them. I wish there were more variety like when :28 and :58 were identical, as were :18 and :48 and :08 and :38.

I believe it has. I remember when TBS aired old tv shows like The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, Sanford and Son, Leave it to Beaver and other old shows. Then, TVLand had those shows, not even TVLand has all those shows anymore.

I doubt this is Obama's plan.. it sounds like something that congress would propose

I would think so because I recall not very long ago late last year (probably after Irene) he said he wanted the NWS budget and federal aid for natural disasters to be expanded.

He was lying when he said that.
