I wanted to ask about Knology. How big a cable company are they?

So they're dumping non-weather programs? Wow! That would be pretty much every show would have to go!That would be great!
TWC Local Forecast - December 30, 1992 |
From the BTF playlist (which I've never been able to fully complete):Southwest Passage by Dave Grusin was also on that BTF playlist.
Indian Summer by The Rippingtons
The Face On Cydonia by Fowler & Branca
10 West by Brian Bromberg (I still remember the time I accidentally found/identified this)
Just The Way I Feel by George Howard
Well, for one, we don't know the entire story, so until we do, it isn't very smart to be pointing fingers right now.In other words, we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions?
Why not?I don't think we should be blaming NBC so much for this.Well, like I said in my post above, NBC is destroying The Weather Channel. From reading that, it sounds like he is leaving on his own, rather than being let go by NBC.
I wouldn't read it that way. It's simply a "nice" and "professional" way of saying goodbye. Usually if a person leaves by choice, they state it explicitly. The way he phrased his statement is just a nice, neutral way of saying that he was let go.

Even if they found good OCMs to replace them, it's still not the same. I guess it's sorta like when great players on your favorite college football team leave to go to the NFL, you have to be recruiting other great players to keep the program going. From reading that, it sounds like he is leaving on his own, rather than being let go by NBC. I certainly hope that is the case. Regardless, I am getting sick of these legendary OCMs not being on TWC anymore! NBC is destroying The Weather Channel!Do you realize that these older OCMs were going to leave eventually either by retiring or by being forced to leave? They can't stay there forever. Yes, it's sad to hear these legends go, but what if they actually find really good OCMs to replace them? Replacement has to occur if you want to keep an organization around for a long time. I realize the downhill nature of TWC lately, but it was going to happen at some point. TWC is a private-sector company, and this kind of turnover happens everyday in the business world.
It appears Jeff is leaving TWC.From reading that, it sounds like he is leaving on his own, rather than being let go by NBC. I certainly hope that is the case. Regardless, I am getting sick of these legendary OCMs not being on TWC anymore! NBC is destroying The Weather Channel!
His facebook post "All good things must come to an end and so it is for my time at The Weather Channel. After 27 years of reporting the nation's weather, both in the studio and in the field, I'm moving on. It has truley been a privelage to bring potentially live saving information to viewers, particularly during severe weather situations. I thank you for watching all those years. Maybe you'll see me somewhere down the road!"
