Happy belated Birthday, Curt! I hope you had a great day.

James Spann explained it well in my opinion...not from the particular Joplin tornado but he was talking about the 2011 Super Outbreak. And, unfortunately, most people do not have the underground bunkers. :(Neither in Dixie Alley where I live, nor in the southern and central plains, a.k.a. Tornado Alley.
Here's what he said (a rough quote):QuoteIn an EF5, if you're not underground, your chances of survival are slim. If you're above ground, chances are you're going to get sucked up into the tornado. The being sucked up doesn't kill most people, it's when they're in the tornado and being hit by all that shrapnel and debris-nails, boards, roofs, etc-that kills them.
Looking back, it seems to me I remember a period when Marshall Seese was not on but I'm not quite sure exactly when it was. I want to say 1991, 1992, somewhere along in there.I was very surprised to see her back on there! I saw her late this morning. Not many weather channel ocms have left and then returned to the weather channel later, only Marshall Seese and Bonnie McLaughlin, as Matt alluted to. Welcome back, Jennifer!Marshall Seese left TWC and returned? When was that?
It occurred from April 25th- 28th with the overwhelming majoring of activity on the 27th. I remember that event like yesterday, CNN and TWC had me glued in with their coverage. Seeing that monstrous tornado tear right through downtown Tuscaloosa is an image I won't forget. I was watching the news stream from ABC 33/40 when James Spann was reporting.Odds are not in favor of it. This was a once-in-a-generation type tornado outbreak, the previous was April 3-4, 1974, also called a "Super Outbreak".
What are the prospects of an event like this happening again within the next 10 years?
Hard to say. Definitely not this year - it's been painfully quiet. Still no High Risk day and it is almost May.Luck may run out. May is the peak month for tornadoes nationwide. A change in pattern is bound to happen since we've been in this cold one for so long, weather changes and if/when the arctic oscellation changes from negetive to positive, that means warmer temperatures, and fewer cold blasts. Warmer temps mean more moisture and instability. I know that's what the tornado hunt team is hoping for, but none of us hope for the tornadoes that happened across the south 2 years ago today.

Thank you, very much.Wouldn't some cable providers overlap? In my area, mine is Charter, however, Bright House is also here, locally. Can you do north central Alabama, along the I-20 corridor? That would include Tuscaloosa (where Comcast/Xfinity is avalaible), Birmingham Metro Area and Anniston (I'm am not sure what the local cable companies are there).
i should have a detailed map of the area you have requested up by the end of this weekend.

I went ahead and started a new thread since the other one was mainly about her departure (and it's been nearly 2 years since it was active.)They are still in the same TV market.
I was always curious to know where she ended up since her departure from TWC, I did a quick search and I see she's now working as a meteorologist in the Miami, FL area. She's been on WPLG-TV since the Fall of 2011.

The only thing that would make this more ironic would be if she and Adam Berg were working together at the same station! (He's working at their competing NBC station)
