Still, I just want normal life to come back. The normal function of society. I agree that it didn't just pop into the United States a month ago, but it sure did seem sudden, when it began to affect the normal riggers of life. Social distancing, staying at home, except for the essentials. Cancelling everything and shutting down the country. I hate every bit of it!I'm inhaling some extremely ignorant, self-centered anecdotal content in this threadAgreed, very much so....I guess we should just go on with life as normally so the virus can spread much more rapidly since we now know it can be simply by just breathing and talking near someone who’s infected or someone who is asymptomatic showing zero signs of symptoms yet still spreading the virus. If we had of been proactive in doing these measures back in February, if not late January we would likely be on the cusp of recovery from this virus. It’s not like this magically popped up in the US a month ago and nowhere else. We saw and heard the grim developments that were occurring in China, Spain, Italy, etc. weeks/months ago we collectively as a country should have been proactive and preparing then, not a few weeks ago as crap hit the fan. End rant. Edit: Let’s try to be sympathetic to people in other countries around the world who are also suffering economically, it’s not just Americans who are suffering from this. We all live on this planet and as a result we all are greatly and personally affected by this global pandemic.
The whole staying home thing is BS. I understand the seriousness of the virus, but shutting the country down for a month is insane. Millions have already lost their job and business are having to close permanently (kind of hard to stay open with no money coming in). I hope every politician that supported this loses their job in November.I saw your sister, Lindsay's comment on facebook and with all due respect, I don't think she understands the other impacts it's having. Yes, quarantining is BS, as is social distancing. I am so sick and tired of this whole thing.

The news media only tells you the confirmed cases and deaths. They won't tell you about the people who have recovered (and there are many, many people who have). They don't want to know anything good or positive, it seems. Just what's bad and negative. I agree with you 100%.
Not sure when this happened, but The Weather Channel is now joining all it's cable news brethren in airing the daily White House briefings on the coronavirus.They're going too far. I mean TWC should report on it to some degree, because they've always talked about weather and how it affects/relates to our health, but to do the same thing that CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News do is uncalled for.

People are making a big deal over this for nothingYou are right. They're cleaning out the shelves of toilet paper at the supermarkets like crazy. Then the people who really need it more, can't get it.
You know, it's one thing to lose a grandparent or even a parent. But when we lose a friend (near our own age) it makes us look at things a little bit differently. I came VERY close to it in 1996, and that experience changed me as a person.Well said! One of my facebook friends lost 2 friends his age (both 29), in less than 6 weeks. About 3 weeks ago, a person my sister works very closely with lost her daughter in an automobile accident (the day before her 21st birthday) It's not just elderly people who die. We should appreciate each day as they come.
We all like to think we're immortal and too young to die, but every now and then reality smacks us right in the face. We've all lost two friends on this board (Martin and now Chazz), and I can't help but think that there may be a few others that we don't know about.
I forget how old Martin was, and Chazz was 38. I lost a good friend at 25, a high school classmate at 16, and a sister at 2 DAYS old.
