Both, actually.  El Niño makes conditions unfavorable for tropical development in the Atlantic, hence the lower numbers of storms, and those same unfavorable conditions also make it harder for storms that do develop to strengthen as fully as they might otherwise have been able to do.  There are exceptions, of course, but, in general, El Niño results in fewer and overall weaker storms in the Atlantic.

Unless the El Nino is weak. There was actually a weak El Nino in 2004-2005, and we saw what kind of hurricane season 2004 was. Hurricane Andrew also came at the tail end of an El Nino, but that didn't stop it from rapidly intensifying and devastating south Florida 23 years ago, 5 days to the day. We'll have to wait and see what impact this El Nino might have on Danny.

She wasn't on her normal 1-4pm WCL shift w/ Mark Elliot.  In her place was Julie Martin(I thought she already left TWC?).

Maybe she was off or on vacation. Lets hope so.

Even though I don't watch it much anymore, I hope it continues on the air for many years to come. I'd watch it more if they'd simply give what they're supposed to give - information about weather, not tv shows that they even apologize for if they preempt the long form programming for bad weather.

I bought a Mr. Pibb out of a drink machine and a Milky Way Bar from a snack machine today. The former was $1.25 and the latter was $0.85. I hope that counts as something you bought, cuz technically, it is. Doesn't make any difference if you buy from a machine or a $20,000 car.

I really liked the old WSR-57 and the WSR-74. I liked the 3-letter codes for each city. DFW was easy - Dallas/Fort Worth. Was OKC Oklahoma City?
