93, partly cloudy, hoping to see rain soon. It was 100 degrees yesterday and it didn't even feel like it!
Also, long time no see. :)

Uhh....my boyfriend made it. I don't have the heart to change it. :P

My beautiful cluttered desktop... I actually tried to clean it up a bit for the shot... Didn't work very well. :P

I didn't visit any of the college I applied to (applied and got accepted to 4 universities). Everything I needed to know was on their websites.
It's always good to visit colleges if your curious about the atmosphere of the campus and whatnot that the sites may not provide enough of. I myself like to see how they're like in person regardless.
Well there was one college I wanted to attend but I heard mixed reviews about and the location is not really the best. 50% hate it, and 50% like it.

I'm sooo ready to move back into my campus.... 27 days seems so far away.... x_x I'm a little afraid of classes, but I think I can do it if I have good professors.

I can already tell that this week ahead is going to be rough for me. :hmm:  Several things have popped up in my life lately, and I have a certification exam to take at the NWS that's not going to be easy.  Please wish me luck as I'm not in good spirits at all right now.

Hey, no stressin' on us now! Best of luck to you, my friend. You will do just fine.

I would say I really started watching TWC out of interest in 1999 when I was 7. I remember back in those days I would sit in my Grandpa's lap and watch the local warnings on our local news channel, too. Good times. :)

TWC Local on the 8s : Weatherstar Jr.

See, I told you I'd do it as soon as I got out for the summer. :3

Sorry about the poor quality. It was the best I could do. For now.

WeatherstarJr, you stole my background!  Just kidding. It IS an awesome background to have.

However, I won't post my desktop because it is WAAY too cluttered. College hasn't allowed for much cleanup time. :\

You guys have some really neat wallpapers! And Windows wallpapers are neat, too. :D

General Weather Chat / Re: Storms in Arkansas
« on: May 01, 2010, 05:18:48 PM »
According to TWC, the western part of the state is in the clear as far as a high threat of tornadoes goes, but I don't think that totally rules out the possibility of a tornado in our neck of the woods. I'm super-worried about those in east central Arkansas.

*Edit*

Southern Arkansas and Louisiana, too.

I dunno, we might not be in the clear. Looks too close for me to tell. Still keeping an eye out, just in case.

*Edit again*

Tornado watch was just extended to our area. Easy come, easy go.

Yeah, I'll be staying at home in Plainview today, so I'll be alright. MY boyfriend will be in Little Rock for his class for a few hours, so I'll be keeping my eye out there, as well.

I'm very concerned about everyone else around the state, too. All those people who got hit last night could get hit again today.

General Weather Chat / Storms in Arkansas
« on: May 01, 2010, 12:53:39 PM »
We had some pretty bad storms last night. My boyfriend and I were hanging around in town, but I was keeping in touch with the family, watching out for the weather. I was in Russellville outside of the Picwood Theater when the tornado sirens went off, so I think they let us in early because of that.

When I left the theater (by the way, How to Train Your Dragon was a cute movie) I decided not to go straight home. My Grandma wasn't answering her phone (landline), and my dad's phone rang once and sent me straight to voice mail (cellphone). I knew they were in the storm cellar.

There was a radar indicated tornado in the Nimrod area, which is close to my "second home", Plainview, so we went to iHop. No damage was reported in that area.

It was thought at first that 3 people died in the storms, but they are now reporting one fatality and 23 injuries. Thank God.

There is a whole slew of damage reports from Arkansas. Someone reported hail for the Russellville area.

Welcome Cloud!

I see you have a WeatherSTAR Jr! It'd be nice to see you contribute some pics or videos of it. I'd love to see it.

Yeah, I live in two locations since I live on campus during the week and at home during the weekend. At home, I live in a small community where they haven't switched from the WeatherStar Jr. I can remember it being on there since I was little. I thought it was rather interesting how when I looked it up, it said that only very small communities have WeatherSTAR Jr., so I kinda feel special. :P
On campus, where I get Suddenlink, we do have Intellistar. If I can figure out how I could contribute some of what I get here at home, I'd be more than happy to do so. Thanks for the welcomes! :)

you can use a camera , tv tuner or DVD recorder... Using a camera should be straightforwarded just use the USB and upload the video here after processing. TV Tuners/DVD Recorders a bit more complex but produce better video quality

I could try, but the only camera I have doesn't work. Although I could use my sister's camera. She never uses it. ;)

I'll try to get on that, although I'll probably have to wait until after finals.

Anyways, thanks again for the welcomes, everyone. :)

Hello, I know Martin thanks to Twitter, but I don't know the rest of you. :)

You can call me tenkitsune or Cloud. I am almost a Sophomore in college. I am majoring in Physical Science and possibly minoring in Journalism, mainly broadcast. I, too, am interested in becoming a meteorologist. I plan on going to Graduate school for meteorology, but I suppose my physics classes next semester will help me decide if I'm keeping my major. I'm very interested in the weather around us. I've always wanted to be the person telling everyone to get down if there's a tornado. I really don't know why. :P
But other than that, I like to play video games and attempt to play guitar. And that's me. So, hello TWC Today people! :D
