Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:38:45 PM »
I wonder what is going through the minds of the cable companies that use the XL and other units.  Now they got an unit costing over $6,000 that now will only show a local forecast twice an hour and a cable ID.  TWC needs to either upgrade the units to produce a L bar forecast or replace the units with the intellistar(at no cost to the cable provider).  I wouldn't be surprised that these cable operators take legal action against Comcast or drop TWC from their line-up.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / XL radar map / Forecast Header
« on: March 08, 2011, 07:17:44 PM »
Could it be possible to add Richwood, WV to our radar map? #003028.  I'm not sure if our star covers more than one county. Could it also be possible to have the 2 municipalities in the county on the LOT8 header on the XL?  Summersville-Richwood, instead of Summersville Area.   Thanks

Thanks.   I'm enjoying the intellistar.   Hopefully they are upgrading our STAR and just using the Weston STAR until the XL is repaired or replaced with an ISTAR.  Cool to see our cable company has used all generations of the STARs.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Wrong STAR displaying
« on: February 15, 2011, 06:30:23 PM »
Our normal STAR is an XL #003028, Summersville, WV.   Now we are getting an Intellistar #30844.  This star is showing weather from Weston, WV.  Weston is approx 70 miles north of us.   I think it's a mistake with the cable provider.  Could the STAR Team Check into this?    I hope this is not permenant.  Because the weather is very different in the these locations.  Our cable provider is Shentel.  Thanks

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / wrong channel # displayed

The channel # displayed near the top of the hour displays channel 25.  Our new cable company moved TWC to channel 28.   Plus I believe that they are having issues with the XL or their channel modulator, the picture is zoomed in a bit.  This noticable when the large LDL is displayed.  Under the logo you see 'weather.co"  the "m" is cut off.  Thanks.   Star ID 003028,  Headend location Summersville, WV 26261
