I guess they are using the Chroma key to make it easier to see the weather on tv. It does help since the video wall isn't very bright anymore, not saying it ever was. 

Between the video wall having a blue tint, having the brightness go funky live on air, having the video wall backlights get darker and darker, the video wall borders (all having died at some point in time), having the center panel die at one point, I could go on, I'm surprised they're still using it for weather presentations. Just my opinion.

However, I will admit. I'm glad they're being smart about it and windowboxing their graphics on the chromakey as most of their graphics are not 4:3 safe.

EDIT [9:14am]: it seems Kelly Cass has acknowledged it, and her vague wording makes me believe this seems to be a longer term solution, as the video wall is still being used for non-weather presenting... It's like a major news network! lol ... link to facebook post

Not only all of that but, when TWC debuted their new HD Studio on YWT back in June 2008, the first thought that came to my mind besides this is awesome!  Was that I felt that the radar/ maps / weekly planner and 5 Day Planner for select cities on the video wall was a little far out (from the camera that is) than FO which was still in SD and still in the SD studio at the time.     Maybe TWC thought of this now because YWT used the Video Wall this morn but not for forecasting.  I might be wrong but, I don’t think the video wall is broken because it looked just fine to me last night and this morn.

What the heck was just going on with TWC just now? Did anybody else see it? The screen just went green scrambles everywhere except the LDL for a couple minutes. There's gotta be general equipment issues. I don't see anything new coming of this, just a problem somewhere they're trying to fix.

  While I agree  with you, just after that, I saw a commerical  for Storm stories  for next week and it said there will be live weather updates and then I saw what I think is the new 33% HD LDL!  they showed it a couple times! Sorry, no Pics or Vids.  Look for it!

Surely this must be a sign of the apocalypse.... They turned the lights on the maps back on at the little desk... How can I tell? They're brighter and I can read the labels on SD.

Was FO having the same cueing issues as DP??? From that pic, it looks like it. If that’s true, I think something is coming.

As of 10AM CT the LDL has been going MIA in every segment of DP, except now (of course! LOL!)  IF anyone is watching TWC this afternoon and sees something, Let us know! Thanks!

Here we go again! The SD/HD LDL were out for most of the 10:10AM CT segment. No problems with the LDL's that I saw from 6:30AM untill 10:10AM.  If you ask me, this doesn't look like an miscue I think something's a foot here.

BTW, Love the new Top 5 LDL Ad! however, I think they should have added WC in that ad also.

At about :31 after 3 PM this afternoon, I saw the Large LDL for a few minutes, then it cut to the small one about a minute later.

Was this on TWC SD or HD?

I've have not seen TWC's HD LDL since WC started tonight.  TWC's SD LDL looks like it's working


TWC obviously still has the big LDL in their system so could something be coming for TWC HD???

Is that your idea or is that TWC's?  A Name change might not be a bad idea.  If TWC puts it on weekends too, it will be better than watching PME at 10PM CT on weekends

I would not be surprised if this new logo goes live for everything. Think FOX News rotating logo.

I would not mind that at all.  It looks nice to me. 
Now if only we knew what happend to the other LDLs

HD Blue LDL the same one that is on YWT right now.

Strange, I hope TWC didn't can the LDA, LDA/LDL, 33%LDL I liked the different LDL's.  The 33%LDL gives a lot more info to people  with cable. I wouldn't think TWC would can it.  Does anyone have an in with TWC to see what's going on?

Watched the opening of WC, TWC is in red mode with the L3rds. TWC's HD/SD LDL is still blue. Since Hermine is here I'm guessing TWC thought why go back to normal now with Hermine here. LR is back on also.
