General Discussion / Re: Gas prices in your area

My 1991 Lexus LS400 requires premium....  it has a V8.  I do not think the smaller Lexus that year (ES250) required premium, since it had the Camry engine).
As you can see on the photo of this LS400 instrument panel- it says "premium unleaded fuel only" above the fuel gauge..

....and now that you mentioned it, under the hood either my 72' Caprice and/or 73' Grand Ville, it says either 91 or 93 octane recommended, but I always run 87 in them.  I guess its where they have the HP V8s in them.  I will have to look into this.  I had totally forgot about that!    :)
Whats strange is that at least on the 72' it says it will run on "low lead" or "no lead" gas.  :)

That's certainly odd. Not one of those cars you listed should require premium fuel.

Because on the instrument panel and fuel tank area it says "premium unleaded fuel only".  My dads brother drives a tanker and he says its all the same, but I am not chancing it.  I know of others with cars like mine that tried regular and ruined the cars fuel system, while others had no problems.   :whistling:

Why would you get premium?  Big waste of money..

Well, its good to see that I am not the only one seeing this!

Another thing that gets me - and today is a prime example...  we have very severe weather today here in northeast Tennessee - one county seen major wind damage... guess what, on the "storm reports" map, they had NO "damage report" dots on northeast Tennessee...., I am sure the NWS reported it, because they knew about it.  At first it was thought to have been a possible tornado!  If our local NWS did not, then shame one them!   :hmm:

Local Forecast / Re: Do you like local forecast music?

I like it when they play tunes that I remember from the 1980s thru the mid 90s.

There was one tune I vividly remember that they played alot in the late 1980s, but I have not heard it in years... it was very "striking".

I paid $3.71 today for premium at Wal-Mart.  My car had 1/2 tank and it still held $43.00.

I am not sure if I am the only one that has noticed, but TWC does not always "break in" on specials, or "pre-empties" other programming when severe weather is in certain areas.  Seems like if severe weather is in Arkansas, Alabama or Georgia, they break in, but if its severe in Tennessee (only) or North or South Carolina, they do NOT break in.  A few nights ago, there was very severe and tornadic storms in Virginia and North Carolina, but "storm stories/Epic conditions continued.  Last night, there were severe storms in east Tennessee and even tornadic storms in southern West Virginia- again, the "OTHER" programs continued - TWC did not even "break in" for a moment that I noticed.

NOW however- tonight, there are severe storms in Arkansas and western TN and they have "pre-emptied" Epic conditions.  I wonder if the storms had only been in TN they would not have broken in.

Sorry, I do not mean to sound negative, but I was wondering if I was the only one noticing this, or if I am misreading it.  ???

I am more discouraged than anything, because I love TWC!!

Everything Else TWC / "confused" TWC forecast?
« on: March 21, 2008, 01:47:51 AM »
Well - on Thursday, TWC during the weekly planner, TWC was showing us in the 50s for forecasted highs on Monday (when that cool air is supposed to arrive in the southeast)... however, on the local forecast, it showed us in the 40s... now whats strange is now that the map on the extended has us in the 40s, but on the TWC forecast, they have us in the 50s!  Its flip-flopped!  Whats even more strange is that our local NWS was originally forecasting us to be in the 40s, now they are saying 50s, which is strange because they normally forecast us cooler than TWC does.  What a mess.  It will be interesting to see exactly how Monday turns out to be temperature wise... looks like none of them can make up their minds.  Now the locals were saying 40s, now they are saying 50s for Monday!

Nope.. they are like mashed potatoes already mashed that are in little containers that you place in the microwave... you can either get them with cheddar cheese, or sour cream/chives, or bacon bits, etc.

Hot pockets?

I sometimes find her facial expressions quite strange and she sometimes uses peculiar words... some I have never heard anyone else ever say before.

But I like her overall.

Thanks.. yes, now I remember her last name being Albert.

I don't remember Marny Stanier, but Janine D'adamo works at my local CBS station as Janine Albert.
WINK TV is the station.
