So use a radio, not a TV :P
How did I know you would say that? :whistling:
Probably because it's common sense, and I'm a man who takes common sense to heart.  :whistling2:

Man?  :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Sounds more like common arrogance to me.

Well, seeing that it's possible that the peeps from TWC check out these forums I have one thing to say... please make the LDL on the HD channel single height.  While the standard definition IntelliSTAR needs double height, the high def version doesn't need it and might never need it.  Just my two cents.

What exactly is your definition of single height?

I guess that means removing the blue bar below the content area of the LDL, making the content flush with the bottom of the screen.

The only problem is that it might look awkward if the top of the HD LDL terminates below the start of the content area of the lower thirds and other graphics.

The HD LDL doesn't have a blue bar below it... Its transparent below the LDL... No bar...

In that case, I guess that would mean simply making the bar flush with the bottom of the screen. It's been a while since I've looked at the demo video.

For what it is, it would just look weird if it was flush with the bottom since the bar has transparencies its self.

Making the LDL "single height" would mean taking off the extra blue portion from the bottom.  For example, single height would look like this...

[LOWER DISPLAY LINE]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right Now >  Washington, D.C.   72   (pic of sun)  Sunny
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...while double height would look like this.

[LOWER DISPLAY LINE]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right Now >  Washington, D.C.    72   (pic of sun)  Sunny

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The extra space at the bottom is what makes it double-height.

Also, there needs to be some space between the bottom of your TV and where the text starts because depending on your tv (it might not show the picture size the exact size) and the way your headend relays the signal, the text might get bumped off-screen a little.

Oh, definitely true.  The 4000 constantly does that at the top of the screen with tube TVs.  TWC's logo is cut off a little.
