Ok, then here's the scoop from my source.
If you're thinking of switching to Dish for the local... don't. It's very
primitive. And I stress that. Yes, it will be kinda "pretty," and somewhat interactive, but is it worth ditching the IntelliStar for? No.
Note: Let the term "interactive" represent you cuing up the application with a button on your remote; changing cities through zip codes and switching between data sets (currents, regional radar, severe weather alert, forecast).
Quick Facts:
*The data will be driven through zip codes. This will be nice for current conditions, as they will be local, through HiRAD, right down to your ZIP! Unless your ZIP covers a large area. Bet they didn't think of that one.
*Information will be spotty, when compared to the Istar. Basically, it will tell you the Highs and Lows, and the weather "Sct'd Tstms," "P Cloudy/Wind," etc.
*No details like on the Istar's text forecasts. Also provided will be a 7 day (somewhat like the Istars.
*As far as radar goes, talk about useless. It's small, VERY "regional," and only certain major areas are labeled, making it hard to see other areas.
*When tuned to TWC, a message will pop up if a severe weather alert is issued, asking you to start your TWC application.
