New song during local on the 8s?

At around 9:30am ET yesterday there was a new song playing. It was distinctively different than the current mix of TWC songs that they play, which is why I even did a double take to make sure. It was just a constant beat but with a few other elements to it, and the rythm did not match to other current ones, it also wasn't that one that is a constant beat, it's completely different. Did anyone else catch this? It hasn't happened since then. I listened to the current songs list on YouTube and it was not in there.

Beleive me, I wouldn't have posted about it if I thought it was one currently in use.

This is nearly the same to how it sounded, especially when drum beat kicks in at around 0:40.

I am not a fan on twc today anymore. I couldnt care less about them these days. TWC is total garbage. period

I'm really sorry you feel that way. I am sure you also have no idea about what being a fan is about. When the going gets tough, you defame the team you were rooting for, and trash everyone else's fandom. Real class.

you are clueless as hell. I was a TWC fan before u was born... much longer than most of the membership here has been alive... i know things about the real world you DON't know. Get a clue cc19726. not wasting my time going back and forth with millenials

Hey, I wouldn't sweat it. Everyone is entitled to their views and opinions here. As to get back to the original topic of the thread, I am not familiar with the music that SO7430 had attached. It's not impossible for TWC to throw in a different music track (for example, the christmas tracks). I am just familiar with the same set of custom production music they have been playing since the WATT movement.

I'm wondering if what you heard was the Severe Winter theme. I've never known TWC to play that over LOT8s but who knows. It has been over a year since any new tracks have been added to the regular LF rotation.  Maybe they are trying to be more like Canada's The Weather Network...

The alternate theme was it exactly, that's the first time I've ever heard it.... :unsure: I've heard the rest up to now, except for that one. Mystery solved I guess. :)

It's funny when you play both the song I put that sounds similar, and the alternate theme, they sound almost identical when played starting at 0:40.

If this song in question is indeed what was on the video cc17926 posted, then it is not new.  In fact, it is the same song TWC used in their Before and After promo when launching Weather All the Time back in 2013.  It's called the TWC Brand Anthem.  Here is that promo with the song in full: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9X3rP_HXRQ.

I believe it was added to the LOT8s a little later than some of the other production tracks, but it still has been playing for a while. ;)

EDIT: Here is another video with the same music (probably even better since it was posted by the composers of the piece): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlTUFAF-cd0.  The change of beat in the middle of the song is them essentially combining the "Storm Alert" music together with the main theme.  Pretty cool.

While i've heard it and it is definitely not new, the video cc17926, and the video weather witness just posted were not it, the alternate winter storm coverage loop theme that TWC Kelby posted is what I heard, and to put it blatantly, its not new, just new to me. But I've heard almost every LOT8's song since the 2013 update. Except for that one. I even did a check list through the current list of songs on youtube and it wasn't in there.
