New Product Playlists (flavors) being tested

TWC had been looking into changing the product playlists since before the acquisition, so I doubt this was NBC's idea. I remember one of TWC's ideas were to have traffic information display right after the current conditions before the forecast data, but I guess they scratched that idea.

I think the fact that most people are watching TV at home and not driving around probably led TWC to lower the priority of traffic displays by moving them to the end of the LF.  There are still a few displays like the "outdoor activity forecast" that I find pointless when you have the local text forecast and a daypart forecast.

IMO, I think all LFs should be 2 minutes. There is not enough time to show much of anything during the one minute flavor, and 1:30 is pointless as well.

But yes, I am wondering why I didn't see any one minutes. I see that the line-up changes (i.e. LF opening to metro map at :18 and :48) are still ongoing.

You know, I keep wondering how these changes would look with the sun background Intellistar? Would the 8 city guesses segment transition in from the right as the LF opens? Would the bulletins page transtion in from the right as the LF opens, or would it just fade in?

Yesterday was the first day when, from 10 AM EDT to 2 PM EDT, there was the normal alternation between 90 second and 2 minute flavors on the weekend. Up through yesterday, the fact that it was weekend day did not matter.

Martin, you're correct. However, TWC was looking into the idea prior to NBC's ourchase of the network, it's just TWC never got around to it.
