June 2010 Playlist

I had a feeling Terminal Frost would be repeated at some point. But I have recorded it in a half a dozen places, and that was just the July 2009 list. Everyone knows how obsessed I was with it last year, but I must admit I'm not too crazy about hearing it again.

Just about all of these repeats I have multiple clips of, from multiple locations. And I don't understand why they can bring back Love of Strings and Rushing, but not Sunday. I like both, but I was really rooting for Sunday.

I can already tell, this will be another playlist that I"ll get tired of quickly. At least there's some good jazz in Daytime.

I just noticed those two songs (Rushing and Love of Strings) just now on the list. This really satisfies me as I was wanting to hear Love of Strings for a long time now. Rushing is a bit overplayed, but I still like it no matter what. I'm also waiting for Sunday, just like you, Aaron.

I was hoping "Sunday" would play instead of "Rushing"  ...but at least "Love of Strings" is on.

The Primetime portion of this playlist seems to be the best so far, imo

Also, I thought Terminal Frost was from the album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"... at least the version I have copies of is.

With the way TWC has been, likely no. There aren't too many instrumental rock songs on BMI and they just want to keep away from the jazz as much as possible.

EDIT: The only reason you see Ryan Farish with new tracks is because he sends new CDs into TWC. If you notice, they've only used his new album "Bloom" instead of reusing older albums like "Wonderfall", "Everlasting", etc.

With the way TWC has been, likely no. There aren't too many instrumental rock songs on BMI and they just want to keep away from the jazz as much as possible.

Exactly, unless they bring back smooth jazz (which is the only daypart with few repeats), I expect them to use more non-jazz repeats in the future playlists.

BTW, I think there is a playlist error because I listened to all 10 songs in the daytime list and "Bay City" by Patrick Yandall is the only one not on. "Unbelievable" by David Benoit from Earthglow is on the playlist and I believe Bay City should be swapped with Unbelievable unless there are 11 songs in the daytime list...

Well the major thing that sets this list apart from the other two from this year so far is that those two lists included a longtime classic. The March list- "Listening Room" by Jeanne Ricks. The previous list- "The Gift" by 3rd Force. This list does not have anything like that, feel free to correct me if you feel otherwise though.

I would consider "What If" by Anthony James Baker as a classic somewhat, since it played back in August 2005.

The majority of the Primetime list is longtime classics. (Terminal Frost, Love of Strings, Rushing, etc.) They're just longtime classics that won't stop playing.

We're talking about jazz classics. And to add on to what Tavores said, Layla is a classic that won't stop playing either..
