I might be crazy.. but I believe the music being played currently is not of the music from our previous playlist.
-
I thought so too! I didn't recognize any of the songs from this past playlist
-
...and let the swarm of exciting playlist fans post here. :P
/me hopes for some Ryan Farish music, ESPECIALLY Perfect Clarity. ^_^
-
On the overnight daypart of all! I'll be watching TWC in about 5.5 hours anyways. :P
-
you know.. its nice to know that i am not the only person tuning to TWC.. even though i want no more Mohr. :)

god bearer of all that is good and holy, save me from bad haircuts and samantha mohr!
-
Station by Gooding (From Nov 08/Feb 09) played on 2:58AM CST.
-
At first I just thought I was drunk, but now that I see other posts, I think they've started a new playlist as well. I just heard a song (I think) that was by Gooding at 258PM CDT. Be looking for some XL clips in the next few days!
-
MOBY "RUSHING" AT 308AM CDT... LOVE THAT SONG!
-
Piano music at 3:18AM CDT.
-
Well for the first time in several playlists (maybe as long ago as the June 2009 playlist) there is a Ryan Farish tune on the overnight. Comparing my overnight clip and the Bloom album I just bought on iTunes ( :P ), it's "May You Run".
Anyone remember "In Your Own Sweet Way" by Miles Davis, from the March 2009 overnight? That's back.
-
In your own sweet way by Miles Davis at 4:28 AM.
EDIT at Aaron: Yes. That's played on August 2008 overnight as well.
-
There's a song that sounds a lot like Trance Fury, which happens to be playing at 5:38 AM EDT... that sounds a lot like Trance Fury. Can't pin the name on it though.
-

That's what I thought as well...
-
WUWA... :no::thumbdown: blah!
-
I need a little more footage (HD clips, as well as some from the E.L.), and I have to sift through all my clips to see what I have double takes for. It'll be at least tomorrow before I begin uploading clips of this new list.
WUWA... :no::thumbdown: blah!
Get clips Clayton! :P
Vocal music actually sounds better on an XL.
-
ugh, looks like we're having problems switching the list again. James Brown at 6:57 AM EDT.
Sounds like Lynn Patrick at 7:28 AM EDT... and I think this is the first time they have reused any of her music.
"Anthem of Hope" by Ryan Farish at 7:38 AM EDT.
"White Castle Blues" by The Smithereens at 7:58 AM EDT...
Just when I thought there may not be that many repeats, "Little Martha" by the Allman Brothers is on at 8:08 AM EDT.
-
The daytime playlist better be good.. I hate the morning playlist so far, especially Anthem of Hope. Enough with RF's Bloom album, I want his classic stuff back!
-
Chris Geith at 8:38 AM EDT. Can't remember the tune though.

Agreed. I do like his Bloom album though. I see not a thing wrong with alternating songs from his new album alongside classic pieces.
-
I don't like his Bloom album, other than Supernova and Magnificent. Don't hurt me, Ana. :P
-
I thought that it was diffrent!! I hope there is some Ryan Farish, and if we are just SUPER lucky and TWC puts Smooth Jazz back, I would like to see Simple Pleasures. But, I don't think it will happen
-
I put in a request for it.. its been a while since i posted a list on here
-
Hmmmm, that song sounds very familiar...... (@ 9:38 ET)......to me it sounds like a remixed version of a song from 2009..
I put in a request for it.. its been a while since i posted a list on here
I guess you can say that I put in a request for it too. Someone on TWC's Facebook page asked "When will the June 2010 Playlist start?" TWC replied with "Soon.", or something like that. And then I said, "I hope it has Simple Pleasures by Jeanne Ricks, that is my all time favorite song on TWC!"
-
Simple Pleasures has aired at least 4 times up through the beginning days of the NBC acquisition. I have a 90 second clip of it from December 2008... not at all in the mood to hear it air again.
-
Why did I have the hunch that the Jars of Clay song would be on this list? Not sure, but the same song that was aired twice in a row last year is back. I like it, but it does not belong on any playlist that spans any part of the day that has daylight.
-
Heard two repeats consisting of "Little Martha" by The Allman Brothers Band and some Love Unlimited Orchestra song. Also, a new Chris Geith song is playing (I think).
-
I'm anxious to hear the daytime daypart in 4 minutes. :P
EDIT: Sounds like Jay Soto. Very similar instruments to "Miss My Cabana".
-
new CC gilmore @ 11:08
-
new CC gilmore @ 11:08
That is a pretty nice song.
-
Well this will explain that music I was hearing last night. I thought it was because I rarely watch TWC that late so I didn't hear that music before.
-
So far I heard a new Steve Oliver song at :58 and I was excited to hear Anthem of Hope!!
But yet this is another playlist, repeat galore.
oh and the Chris Geith song at :28 was Tomorrows Promise
-
OMG FUN IN THE SUN BY STEVE OLIVER AT :18!!!!!!
I tested this song numerous times
-
:thrilled: SMOOTH JAZZ :thrilled: @ 11:18 AM ET!!!!!!!

"Going With The Grain" by Ron Fattorusso, from the October 2008 primetime is back. I like it, but again, another song that is out of place.

ya i agree, it sounds like it should've played this primetime daypart.

Nah, it is good fit for daytime.

:38 is Rendezvous by Eric Marienthal <_<
-
Oh my god, Rendezvous by Eric Marienthal. Enough with that song already!

i beat u :bleh:

Question: So basically all playlists from now on out will be near the 20th?
-
:38 is Rendezvous by Eric Marienthal <_<
I have a clip of when it played in March 2009 for those who missed
Pinnacle PCTV HD Ultimate Stick Test- VCR Clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQaEYvwfec8#)
Only different thing is the time-in is one or two seconds later
-
This is already looking to be a terrible list, full of repeats like the last one. If anything, primetime will be worst. I'm just glad there's a new playlist at least...the other playlist sounded like it would go on forever
-
:48 is a new song sounds like Joe Sample
:58 sounds like Samuel Lincoln or David Wells
-
:38 is Rendezvous by Eric Marienthal <_<
I rather enjoy this song no matter how many times its played

Me too, I'm glad to hear it again and "Going With The Grain".
-
The song that played at 10:58 is "Barcelo" by Steve Oliver for those who want to know..
-
unbelievable by david benoit @ 12:18
another David B song @ 11:48
-
Thank goodness for the new playlist! Despite the fact there are a few repeats, I actually enjoy some of the songs. I like the daytime jazz a lot so far. I hope primetime isn't too techno or hip-hop though.
-
Terrible playlist, most of the songs are repeats in this one. :cry3:

Kinda funny this song is back I was thinking about uploading the clip I had of it from last year yesterday. :P And boy does that Primetime scream a collection of Summer 2009 playlist songs I don't know what will. This is how you know the whole rock concept isn't working that well if they have to keep using the same ones like a million times.
Oh my god, Rendezvous by Eric Marienthal. Enough with that song already!
Your complaining about "Rendezvous"? What about about Layla being back on here again Enough with THAT song already! :hammer: (sighs) I guess Primetime is destined to suck no matter how good, ok, or bad the playlist is overall. This playlist is just like last, nothing to be excited about. :itsok:
-
Since I lost the raw file, I'm going to prep for a double-take of "Rendezvous" by Eric Marienthal by hoping to cap it on HD and re-record the VHS clip.
-
YAY! Moar Ryan Farish music!!!! ^_^
I'll only get to hear "May You Run", since "Anthem Of Hope" and "Arrival Of Spring" are in the morning. Although I always wanted "Anthem Of Hope" to be on the playlist! ^_^
What... is that LAYLA???
/me explodes.

It isn't summer unless Layla plays. It has played almost every summer on TWC since 2001!!! The primetime playlist actually has good songs, and it is better than last year. But there are far too many repeats. I don't know what is TWC's obsession with John Williams, though. Most of the songs were played from June through September of last year. Terminal Frost and Oscillate Wildly are probably two of the most TWC-friendly rock songs.

What I hate about this song is that it's being overplayed. I've been hearing it since LAST YEAR.
-
I had a feeling Terminal Frost would be repeated at some point. But I have recorded it in a half a dozen places, and that was just the July 2009 list. Everyone knows how obsessed I was with it last year, but I must admit I'm not too crazy about hearing it again.
Just about all of these repeats I have multiple clips of, from multiple locations. And I don't understand why they can bring back Love of Strings and Rushing, but not Sunday. I like both, but I was really rooting for Sunday.
-
I can already tell, this will be another playlist that I"ll get tired of quickly. At least there's some good jazz in Daytime.
-

I just noticed those two songs (Rushing and Love of Strings) just now on the list. This really satisfies me as I was wanting to hear Love of Strings for a long time now. Rushing is a bit overplayed, but I still like it no matter what. I'm also waiting for Sunday, just like you, Aaron.
-
I was hoping "Sunday" would play instead of "Rushing" <_< ...but at least "Love of Strings" is on.
The Primetime portion of this playlist seems to be the best so far, imo
-

Well we can always hope for the next list :)
Also, I thought Terminal Frost was from the album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"... at least the version I have copies of is.
-
Geez, will they EVER play COMPLETELY NEW songs? :club:
-
Geez, will they EVER play COMPLETELY NEW songs? :club:
Yes, Ryan Farish
-
Geez, will they EVER play COMPLETELY NEW songs? :club:
With the way TWC has been, likely no. There aren't too many instrumental rock songs on BMI and they just want to keep away from the jazz as much as possible.
EDIT: The only reason you see Ryan Farish with new tracks is because he sends new CDs into TWC. If you notice, they've only used his new album "Bloom" instead of reusing older albums like "Wonderfall", "Everlasting", etc.
-

Exactly, unless they bring back smooth jazz (which is the only daypart with few repeats), I expect them to use more non-jazz repeats in the future playlists.
BTW, I think there is a playlist error because I listened to all 10 songs in the daytime list and "Bay City" by Patrick Yandall is the only one not on. "Unbelievable" by David Benoit from Earthglow is on the playlist and I believe Bay City should be swapped with Unbelievable unless there are 11 songs in the daytime list...
-
Well the major thing that sets this list apart from the other two from this year so far is that those two lists included a longtime classic. The March list- "Listening Room" by Jeanne Ricks. The previous list- "The Gift" by 3rd Force. This list does not have anything like that, feel free to correct me if you feel otherwise though.

I would consider "What If" by Anthony James Baker as a classic somewhat, since it played back in August 2005.

HATE this playlist!

The majority of the Primetime list is longtime classics. (Terminal Frost, Love of Strings, Rushing, etc.) They're just longtime classics that won't stop playing.

We're talking about jazz classics. And to add on to what Tavores said, Layla is a classic that won't stop playing either..

Morning: Alright so far. 6 reused, 4 new songs. Few jazz/newage music.
Daytime: Best of the playlist. 2 reused, 8 new songs. All jazz music.
Primtime: Too much repeats from last year. 8 reused, 2 new. Need more jazz music rather than rock and theme music.
Overnight: First song I heard in this playlist was Station. 4 Reused.
17 reused songs from last year. Almost 20 songs are new. This playlist is alright.
-
Yea, I agree. It's not the best...but it's alright.
-
speaking of playlists i wished they would make a playlist like the september 2007 playlist.
-
I don't know what all the complaining is about it's just a playlist. TWC has their favorite artists and we have to live with that.
I agree. Its a decent playlist to me. I have certainly heard better or worst. I would much rather have Ryan Farish then some of the music TWC could experiment with. TWC could step up the variety a little more

I agree. This seems like an okay playlist. In fact, some of the songs I listen to in general are on this list and it's just a simple spice-up to me unlike a total change seeing how I listen to classic rock all the time (and smooth jazz too ).
-
I must admit being this wrapped up into TWC has allowed me to expand my music interests, and now I listen to almost anything. I'm just with everyone else when it comes to the repeats on this list. I don't hate any of them, and I really can't think of any songs on this list that I hate. I just wish there could be fewer repeats of recent songs and airings or more classic tunes (Full Sail, Sunday :P ).
-
Full Sail and Sunday are some of my favorites :P
btw the indiana jones theme is playing on twc right now <_<
-
actually the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark
just now, Touch by Boney James with a horrible cut
-
just now Love of Strings by Moby with the cut a couple of seconds later than June 2008
-
Overall this list is a 3/10 to me. Quite disappointed but oh well, gotta keep up with the change
-
The primetime playlist is June and July 2009 all over again. I have gotten used to the fact that primetime sucks. Daytime is always the best daypart, since they actually play smooth jazz. Primetime is completely allergic to smooth jazz, and it is getting annoying.
-
I agree with Martin, I'm in between. It's not the best by a long shot and it's not the worst either. Although it's mostly recycled songs, I like this Primetime playlist better than the last, I only liked about 2 or 3 songs from that one and there's a few less repeats overall too. I kinda wish they played "Let It Rain" by Eric Clapton instead of Layla though.
-

Same. I prefer Sunday but Love of Strings isn't a bad song either and I wouldn't mind it coming back
-
The primetime list for June/July, as repeated as it is, is way better than the Apr/May primetime. The rock songs they choose are pretty good. For instance, Oscillate Wildly is a borderline smooth jazz song, with its soft piano and strings. I like Terminal Frost too, especially the sax solo. Layla is the TWC summer anthem. It has aired almost every summer since 2001. CYHMK by the Stones is another summer classic.
-
I'm dead tired of Terminal Frost after hearing it hundreds of times last summer :P Nice to see CYHMK, Oscillate Wildly, Pluality, and Love of Strings back, although Oscillate Wildly is more of a morning or daytime song as opposed to evening. Station 6 is also a great song that I've been wanting to capture for awhile.
One thing that questions me though, how come when they used Layla in July 2009 it had Eric Clapton under the artist, but on all the other playlist it had the band he was with at the time, Derek and the Dominos?
-
Is it just me or does Early Evening by CC Gilmore sound similar to Joe Sample's Born to Be Bad (from Feb 2000 playlist)? They are two great songs, BTW.
-
I can confirm this song is not Bay City by Patrick Yandall. And I sampled the David Benoit songs from the new album and it's not it either.
June/July 2010 Daytime 8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4WAPO8GHuQ&feature=channel#)
It's a good song though. Maybe TWC will correct the error

This song sounds like something Ursula Suzana Pacheco (sp?) would make if you ask me, but I'm probably wrong.

Frail by Jars of Clay. It was used last year as well
-
Yeah, I just uploaded a double take of it. I love the song, but as stated above, it does not belong on any playlist that spans any daylight hours.
-
Morning: Tomorrow's Promise by Chris Geith (best), Not sure (worst)
Daytime: Fun in the Sun by Steve Oliver (best), no worst songs
Primetime: Dan Marx by Bricks for Brains (best), Layla (worst)
Overnight: Station by Gooding (best), not sure (worst)

Touch is overplayed. I have heard it half a dozen times tonight alone.
-

At least there's ONE smooth jazz track in primetime...
-
I'm getting a little tired of Boney James' music...
-
I like Boney James, but I want to hear others besides Stone Groove, Nothin But Love, and Touch. Play some of his Ride and Trust songs that have been featured on TWC during its heyday!

Touch is overplayed. I have heard it half a dozen times tonight alone.
At least there's ONE smooth jazz track in primetime...
Actually, there is two. Chillaxin' is the other one.

That's more of a chill/ambient song to me rather than jazz.

I agree. Sounds more like R&B/Funk in a way. Wish they would play some new jazz song in the primetime slot besides Boney James or reuses from the past.

Yeah, Chillaxin' is more of an R&B-sounding chill song. TWC is completely allergic to playing smooth jazz in the primetime. Touch is a smooth jazz classic by John Klemmer. Boney James did not do it much justice IMO. It does not have the soul, the emotion, and sensuality of the orginal. TWC should play the original Touch in primetime or overnight.

That is because primetime is devoted to rock. I can't see them continuing with the reuses for each primetime and morning slot in the playlist. Every playlist since the January one has had 3 or more repeats in the primetime list, and quite frankly going back to all jazz can help justify this.

I'm getting a little tired of Boney James' music...
His music not bad, but some songs like Touch sounds a lot like Euge Groove and Richard Elliot (I confuse it the first time I heard it) due to the same saxophone he used.

Is it just me or does Early Evening by CC Gilmore sound similar to Joe Sample's Born to Be Bad (from Feb 2000 playlist)? They are two great songs, BTW.
It does sound like a cover version of Joe Sample's "Born To Be Bad".

Touch- Boney James- Send One Your Love
That song is one of the oldest song that played on TWC since January 1988 Playlist.

There's a song that sounds a lot like Trance Fury, which happens to be playing at 5:38 AM EDT... that sounds a lot like Trance Fury. Can't pin the name on it though.
That's what I thought as well...
Don't think it was me. I wish. I've always made suggestions and if they get a chance to put it on the list then I am appreciative!

Those looking for this song, it's "Enchanted Island" by Soul Cafe from On The Move. It's on iTunes.

Thx! It's on bmi as catamaran cruise by Samuel Lincoln

I just so happened to hear "Touch" by Boney James tonight. That song was originally done by John Klemmer back in 1975 (on the album of the same name) and was used on the local forecast back in 1988 and 1989.
