It was taken off the Istar SD a while back but remained on the I2jr and I2HD the whole time. The video referenced from Charleston is an I2JR
That animation was removed from the IS1 but it never was on the IS2 or IS2Jr, instead they had text only without the graphic. It seems that TWC added this to the IS2 and IS2jr very recently.

Right, the bulletin page (like in this video) had been text-based as far as I knew, up until this point

My IS2 is frozen. Audio is jumbled and picture is frozen, however weather info is still running fine and still receiving commands to change. I just complained to TWC Tech support. Any one else seeing this? I noticed it around 5:30 PM EST.

It seems TWC brought back some of the nostalgic music on their latest playlist.

Yet during Winter Storm "Juno™" coverage, I haven't heard any of those tunes, just the same old regular production tunes.  :wall:

I believe that's not real, just someone putting their own music over the video.

Ooops. I didn't know that. :dunno: Thanks for reminding me. Quite honestly, I haven't watched TWC regularly as much as I used too, although I did watch some of Winter Storm "Juno™" coverage recently, but I watched most of TWC's coverage on DirecTV's exclusive Severe Weather Mix channel that they had temporary on what would normally be the Sports Mix channel on 205 and 600. This was only available during the recent east coast snowstorm (or in TWC's case, "Juno™").

Is there even any significant difference between an IS and a IS2jr? Appearance-wise they all seem the same to me.

Although, it makes sense to replace the IS with the IS2jr since it's like an offspring of the IS2.

My IS2 cities were updated.

Originally - East Windsor, East Brunswick, Trenton, Hopewell
Updated - East Windsor, Princeton, Trenton, South Brunswick

Maybe TWC is updating this or Xfinity East Windsor is using a different TWC Feed?

The I2jr has the Cantore Vocal Local, whereas the IS still uses Allen Jackson. And the graphics, in regards to the page transitions, on the i2jr are a little quicker and more abrupt, and the temperature on the CC screen rapidly counts up to the current temp, like the IS2.  I would notice the difference, but the average viewer probably wouldn't.

Echoing Tavores, it does make perfect sense that TWC is slowly replacing all IntelliSTAR units with IS2 Jr units, considering that the IS is about 12 years old and is constantly glitching. Also, that could explain why all if not many Comcast and Bright House headends who have adopted the IS2 replaced their SD TWC feeds with HD feed simulcasts.

That also makes me wonder if TWC is planning on making a new Weatherscan model of the IS2 or IS2 Jr.? The current Weatherscan IntelliStar model came out back in 2003 and it's a year older than the main TWC model and hasn't received any graphics updates or new features since 2010 or so. That also makes me wonder if TWC will ever make Weatherscan HD?

Wxscan is essentially frozen in time. No updates/upgrades planned, including hd.

Today, my Comcast headend replaced the TWC SD Feed with a letterboxed version of the IS2 HD Feed. It appears cable companies are slowly phasing out the IntelliStar.
