Somehow I didn't buy that. The way it happened just doesn't add up to that. Her account accidentally got deleted just days after she joined? What the hell are Matt's criteria for account deletion? And how exactly DO you accidentally delete a person's account? My theory: someone thought she was an imposter and booted her. I wouldn't have bothered to rejoin either quite frankly. If I had been fed that excuse I'd have thought it was a pretty damn weak one. Oh, and that's a prime example of why I don't do account deletions here. It's conceited, and makes you look pretty bad if you screw it up.

Jeanne had 1 post, but it somehow got deleted along with the other accounts. Either: 1) there was a flaw in the IPB software or 2) he accidentally included people with 1 post in the search (but didn't realize it), which resulted in her account being deleted.
I emailed Concord records, and they said they're not requesting any submissions. I don't get it.

I don't know, but I hope Jeanne is aware of this.
As for the Concord matter, can't say why your friend Zach got the response that he did but, I'm not entirely surprised. His note seems to have been passed through to what we call 'gatekeepers' (lower ranked employees whose job it is to keep the 'riff raff' away from all the 'big dogs' who actually make the decisions). This is one of the major dilemmas that I've encountered numerous times with record labels in even just simply trying to get my material through to someone credible to listen to the music. Which is why I was so gratified when I got an email directly from the President of the company himself two weeks ago. On my own, I never would've been able to reach him, wouldn't have gotten past the gatekeepers! But again I'd like to thank you, Zach and Victor for your efforts. The encouragement and support do make a difference. All the best,-JR
Thanks for the info on the Jazz Festival website. I'll try to find out exactly what materials they require from artists for submission and then put together a package of whatever it is they want. But this is a good start and I thank you.
Hi Jeanne - I trust that you had a good weekend. I apologize that it has taken a little time to make a decision. Regrettably at this time we are going to pass. You are talented and I think you have potential, but there are many, many factors that go into signing an artist and these compound when considering a brand new artist. I will continue to watch and see what happens. I am sure this is not the news that you wanted. Continue to write and build up your touring. Kind Regards - Dave Love
Thanks Alex, Out of over 15 songs that I submitted to the Weather Channel' last month they chose only 1, due to the new programming bias. I wasn't aware that there was a FaceBook site or that there had been any reaction to the NBC music programming changes whatsoever. I do by the way, peek in on the TWC Today website but, for the most part the posts related to music are regarding song identification or accolades at having found a particular favorite song - neither of which I could add anything to. Was pleased that someone recognized the musical contributions in the life of Hiram Bullock - a phenomenal Guitarist - who died much too soon, but had many personal problems which curtailed his success - he was the original Guitarist on 'The Letterman Show' among many other accomplishments. Below is the track list for my latest CD - 'Make it Work!' it is for sale on my website and does include one other 'Weather Channel' song 'Cold Snap'. Had not realized until you sent me that list of YouTube videos, just how many songs they've played of mine over the years - OMG. I suppose I could do a CD of just 'Weather Channel' music but, I'm not certain there's a real market. While the Facebook site boasts a membership upwards of 2000 that doesn't guarantee sales. Likewise, by my count there are only about 12 active members of the TWC Today group and I'm uncertain whether there would be sufficient sales for it to make sense. Yes, I'm aware of the sites where you can sell your songs individually but, as mentioned previously - as an artist - that is not the way that I feel comfortable presenting my work. All the best,-JR
