I would love to be in OKC for this thing, I would have loved to have been there last month during Christmas Week when they got 14 inches of snow. They are gonna get hammered as well as TN and North Carolina.

Awesomely enough, I'm forecasted to get pretty close to the worst of this. Could very much be a short school week. I'd love to get 8" of snow, but I'd also like a spring break. I'll have pictures once the storm comes.

Who's getting the snow? :dunno: According to the forecast right now, Dallas won't be getting anything.

EDIT: Well, we might. There's a special weather statement out.

No snow for us anymore. Just rain, thunder, and colder temperatures. :( The winter storm is just brushing the top of the city, according to weather.com maps. Most of the (snow) action will be in OK and TN.

I'm in the same boat minus the thunder part. NWS is saying a chance of sleet/ice Friday night, but i seriously doubt it. 35° isn't cold enough for freezing rain anyway. I rather it just be cold rain, but at the sametime I would rather it not do anything here at all so we don't get that either.

A WINTER STORM IS EXPECTED TO EFFECT MUCH OF THE MID ATLANTIC
REGION FROM FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY. AT THIS POINT...BASED
ON THE CURRENT PROJECTED STORM TRACK...THIS SYSTEM WILL HAVE THE
POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS...BETWEEN
3 AND 10 INCHES...ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA...
AS WELL AS NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS
EXPECTED AWAY FROM THE COAST NEAR THE VIRGINIA...NORTH CAROLINA
BORDER...WHICH INCLUDES FRANKLIN AND EMPORIA. AT THIS TIME...IT
APPEARS THE LOWEST AMOUNTS WILL BE ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST
NORTH CAROLINA NEAR THE ATLANTIC COAST AND ALBEMARLE SOUND...WHERE
SOME MIXING WITH RAIN OR SLEET IS ANTICIPATED.

Martin, it looks like you'll finally get your snow after all as the new model runs put you just on the cold side of that freezing mark at the surface and aloft.  I see somewhere around 8-11" for you.

This storm is wild, bringing blizzard like conditions across several southern states and snow/sleet rates of up to 2 inches per hour! The NWS just updated my forecast to Rain/Sleet tonight and Snow/Sleet tomorrow yet, they have not issued any Winter Weather Advisories for my area only Winter Storm Warnings for Gainesville,Ga north into the GA mountains.  Even if it doesn't happen, it wouldn't kill them to do that, it's not like they are experts on winter weather like mets in the north anyway. <_<
