Looks like another system is moving through Thur-Sat! B)
-
I would love to be in OKC for this thing, I would have loved to have been there last month during Christmas Week when they got 14 inches of snow. They are gonna get hammered as well as TN and North Carolina.
-
Awesomely enough, I'm forecasted to get pretty close to the worst of this. Could very much be a short school week. I'd love to get 8" of snow, but I'd also like a spring break. I'll have pictures once the storm comes.
-
Well I had my share of the storms last week, now it's you guys's turn. :bleh:
-
Who's getting the snow? :dunno: According to the forecast right now, Dallas won't be getting anything.
EDIT: Well, we might. There's a special weather statement out.
-
:drunk: :drunk:
-
Looks like someone is excited. :P
EDIT: I just realized... that's STORM #5! O_o I'm the one that's gonna "throw" the storm at the South on Thursday.
-
No snow for us anymore. Just rain, thunder, and colder temperatures. :( The winter storm is just brushing the top of the city, according to weather.com maps. Most of the (snow) action will be in OK and TN.

I'm in the same boat minus the thunder part. NWS is saying a chance of sleet/ice Friday night, but i seriously doubt it. 35° isn't cold enough for freezing rain anyway. I rather it just be cold rain, but at the sametime I would rather it not do anything here at all so we don't get that either.

Big hit for my region if it verifies
-
A WINTER STORM IS EXPECTED TO EFFECT MUCH OF THE MID ATLANTIC
REGION FROM FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY. AT THIS POINT...BASED
ON THE CURRENT PROJECTED STORM TRACK...THIS SYSTEM WILL HAVE THE
POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS...BETWEEN
3 AND 10 INCHES...ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA...
AS WELL AS NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS
EXPECTED AWAY FROM THE COAST NEAR THE VIRGINIA...NORTH CAROLINA
BORDER...WHICH INCLUDES FRANKLIN AND EMPORIA. AT THIS TIME...IT
APPEARS THE LOWEST AMOUNTS WILL BE ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST
NORTH CAROLINA NEAR THE ATLANTIC COAST AND ALBEMARLE SOUND...WHERE
SOME MIXING WITH RAIN OR SLEET IS ANTICIPATED.

Martin, it looks like you'll finally get your snow after all as the new model runs put you just on the cold side of that freezing mark at the surface and aloft. I see somewhere around 8-11" for you.
-
This storm is wild, bringing blizzard like conditions across several southern states and snow/sleet rates of up to 2 inches per hour! The NWS just updated my forecast to Rain/Sleet tonight and Snow/Sleet tomorrow yet, they have not issued any Winter Weather Advisories for my area only Winter Storm Warnings for Gainesville,Ga north into the GA mountains. Even if it doesn't happen, it wouldn't kill them to do that, it's not like they are experts on winter weather like mets in the north anyway. <_<

Tonight: Snow, mainly after 2am. Low around 26. North wind between 8 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Saturday: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 30. Blustery, with a northeast wind between 15 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.
Saturday Night: Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 24. Blustery, with a north wind between 17 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

8in of snow today. lots of ice and sleet
-
Could see round 2 of this storm next Fri/Sat? Looks possible with a coastal noreaster
-
We're going to have another major snowstorm for parts of the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast this Friday night and Saturday. I may be looking at another foot of snow to go on top of the estimated 3 feet of snow that I already received this winter. I think I need a snow plow to shovel it off to other people here as even I'm starting to think I've seen too much.
-
Line of storms on the way. A smaller one again Mon/Tues
-
This sounds interesting........ :)
.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
LOOKS LIKE A CLASSIC SNOW THREAT FOR MUCH OF THE STATE ON FRIDAY
THIS WEEK AS A AN AREA LOW PRESSURE TRACKS ACROSS THE NORTHERN
GULF AND SPREADS AMPLE MOISTURE OVER A COLD DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE
ALREADY IN PLACE ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST. WILL JUST MENTION RAIN OR
SNOW FOR NOW FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GA AS CONFIDENCE THIS FAR OUT
IS NOT THAT HIGH. OTHERWISE...RECOMMEND ALL INTEREST IN NORTH AND
CENTRAL GA TO STAY TUNED TO LATER FORECAST FOR CONTINUED FINE
TUNING OF THIS POTENTIAL WINTRY THREAT.

Models have this one tracking way south but we still could see more of a curve on the east coast or a northern trend. Models have a tendency for souther bias.

That graphic just made me very happy. :D  I'm nervously watching this on the models, I don't want to be disappointed again, I've gotten burned enough this winter. I'm not gonna lose it and get excited until at least Wednesday or Thursday when we'll know for sure.
-
The storm might even move further south this time to reach my area. :D Rain/snow showers are expected for us on Thursday.

WTF. Clipper bringing snow down to FL
