We just got .18" of rain today. Lots of ponding, since the ground is so dry. Then the ground dried once the sun came out :P

But anyway, As far as the Southeast, I think it will be similar to last summer.

I hope it will not be similar to last summer in the Southeast. July was cooler than average and was not a typical July. We did not have the typical "Popup"  afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Instead, thunderstorms were complexes coming down from the north over the High Pressure Ridge over Texas (where there was an extreme and exceptional drought) and then cold fronts coming all the way through getting all the way down to the gulf coast. July was the most pathetic July I had for thunderstorms in 9 years.

I hope that for the midwest, it will be much warmer than last summer, where 2009 was a nothing of a summer. I hope there will be a heat wave similar to 1988 and 1995 and more recently, 2005 and 2006.

I just want it to hit 100. We haven't had triple digits here in Lansing officially since August 1, 1988... so bring it on!

August 1, 2006 here. :P I hope for a somewhat warm summer (low 90's max) but no humidity.
