Tsunami sirens are now going off for all locations in Hawaii. Waves of 3 to 7 feet can be expected. First waves arrive at 10:38 HST (5:38 AM EDT).

There was a tsunami advisory for southern Oregon and parts of northern California, but thankfully never for where I live in southern Washington  otherwise I would have heard the sirens go off here in Long Beach and then would have headed for higher ground  :fear:

Last night's quake was nothing. Wait until the Cascadia 9.0 strikes ;)

Don't worry, I'll be ready for that one  ;) :P  After all, I do happen to live in a tsunami-ready community

Good, I hope you will stay safe. Safety and preparedness is paramount. I kinda live in a tsunami-ready community. Tsunamis are unheard of in NJ. Norfolk, VA is the closest east coast tsunami ready town near me.

Paid under $2 to get my Start Menu back. I have no regrets. I do still use the Start Screen though.

Yesterday's earthquake in western Canada has had over 50 aftershocks so far, and still counting  :o

I went to a political rally in Fargo tonight and Bill Clinton was a speaker! That is probably the closest I will ever get to a former President.

Ugh, it is so cold right now (I mean, like 45°-cold), and my heater isn't coming on because the temperature my parents set it to hasn't been met yet  :brr:
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

Not uncommon after larger quakes, especially along subduction zones. Be glad they're smaller aftershocks allowing the fault/zone to "de-stress" instead of having another one whack the region.

Hope all of you had a good Halloween if you could.  It's hard to believe that November has arrived.  The holidays will be here before you know it.

Chris Christie signed an executive order postponing Halloween and Trick or Treating in New Jersey until Monday, times to be determined by each individual city and township.

Yes. The fact that the show was audience free made it a tad bit awkward for me, but he did a good job.

Shifting gears...is anyone seeing the new Youtube layout? The website seems to have gone the way of Google+.
