Too early for me. :P

If Winter School still existed, I would have started school today. But alas, damn you budget cuts. >_> I start my registration for my LAST semester of IVC in two weeks, then start school on Feb 14.

Ok Google is amazing. I accidentally added all of my twitter and facebook contacts to my phones contact list. That list was then synced to google. I thought I would have to wipe all of my contacts and find a backup to restore but Google apparently has a built in feature that restores your contact list to any point in time. Google rocks. I never thought they would have something like that built in to google contacts.

I just finished up my "minimester" today, a 16 week course condensed into 12 days.  It's pretty intense, but it's a great feeling when it is done.  I start back on the 18th.

Fortunately, since I've taken summer and winter courses, I only need three more classes for my Associates degree.  I am re-taking a class I got a D in my freshman year, because that crushed my GPA.  So, I only need two books, so it will not cost me much.  But like Al and Martin mentioned, BUYING BOOKS SUCKS!!!

even C's will horrendously bring down your GPA, it's ridiculous. lol

i did get my books today, cost? $443.29. that's pretty cheap (based off of my previous semesters here), the past three semesters they've ranged higher from $600-$850. but still, it's money i'd rather spend doing fun stuff. lol

For all of you suffering with book costs, make sure you consider looking online for books like eBay, or only buy used books at a bookstore.  There are even some courses where the professors place all the notes online to where having a textbook is practically pointless.  I remember seeing a new edition of one textbook with hardly any words or figures changed at all from the previous edition, but the difference in price was $100.  It's a complete rip off.

Want a tip? ALWAYS buy books from Amazon. Amazon has the books you're looking for, and the prices are astonishingly cheap. (ex. My Dreamweaver textbook costs $55 at IVC's bookstore. At Amazon: $34). I am never buying books from the bookstore again.

Try to deliver newspapers in single digit temps, below zero wind chills, and diamond dust snow, like how I had to at 6AM this morning. :brr:

Yes, I highly recommend Amazon, and ebay as Patrick suggested.

However, renting books have become quite popular.  All you have to do is pay for shipping and handeling, and maybe 30 to 40 bucks to rent, and then you send it back after 12-16 weeks of using it.  However, since I only need two books, I am just going to buy it from my school's bookstore.

And you are right Al, C's can ruin that GAP as well.   Shooting for a 4.0 this semester

Me either.  I think I tried Farmville once, because everyone would send requests so I figured it had to be fun.  I did not like it :P.

Same here...and assuming this is also by Zynga, I can already tell there'd be trillions of notifications, wall posts, and other annoyances.
