TWC was going downhill well before NBC got involved, NBC just made it worse.

Does anyone know why the weather channel is going downhill?
Reasons why:
-NBC
-Blue Bar of Doom. It's f***ed up my inteset in TWC.
-Current YWT. I don't mind this current version and hosts of YWT so much.
-Hurricane Season and Severe Weather Covage
-Too much OCM's lay-offs in the past 5 months

Here's my point of view:

  • August 2005 relaunch
  • Storm Alert Music (I really can't stand it!)
  • HD relaunch
  • No more green screens
  • Versions 2 and 3 of the IntelliSTAR
  • No more Evening Edition
  • Storm Stories is letter boxed (on SD feed) and has harsher theme music
  • Job layoffs
  • Too much infomation on the screen
  • Trammell Starks backup playlist is becoming more harder to find
  • More documentries that don't have anything related to weather
  • Hurricane and severe weather coverage (it's not the same since the relaunch)

I miss the old TWC! 1982-2005 was their good old days!

I actually liked how TWC was right after the August 2005 relaunch, with those "laid-back" commercials. Sadly, they didn't last very long.

I agree with ya, they had some very impressive openers and promos. I also liked the "vocal" summer theme.

They started going down before NBC, NBC just helped the downturn go faster. Plus that blue bar has to go. Getting rid of the best OCMs was a bad idea. I barely watch anymore.

I agree with the blue bar of doom thing. I will never like the BBOD because it's take too much space.
