But still, most of us hate big media companies.
Classic TWC, Weatherscan, legacy WeatherSTARs, and classic Prevue/TV Guide fan.

TV Guide itself is owned by News Corp.

What difference does that make?

TV Guide CHANNEL is owned by a different company. I was replying to Mike to clarify the statement.

Laying off Dave Schwartz was a huge mistake.

When MTV started in the early 80s, they were much better than they are now. Sadly, I can say the same for TWC, which seems to have adopted more of a variety show aspect than that of disseminating meteorological information. Yes, they've broadened their horizons, but I don't care much for some of their changes.

Dave was a keeper. I hope he finds better employment someplace else -- hopefully on a national scale so we can all continue to see him -- and can later thumb his nose back at whoever it was who ultimately sealed his fate.

Bad choice, TWC.

Well, as so many others have said so well, TWC is but a mere shadow of it's former self.

Dave and Cheryl, two of my favorite OCM's, knowledgeable, smart, funny (Dave, "My Friend" Schwarz), articulate, (Cheryl), and professional. (Eboni).

Now, this weekend I see that more OCM's have left.  Rich Johnson, Kristina Abernathy   , and Kristen Dodd.

Keep this trend up and TWC will have one less viewer.  I know, big deal, one less viewer, but I do watch and do purchase their sponsor's products.

Regards

If they lay off anyone else it would most likely be ocms like Mike Sidel, Sharon Resultan, Vivian Brown, Nick Walker, and if they are incredibly stupid Jim Cantore, Paul Goodloe, Kim Perez, and Jeff Morrow, Bill Keneely, and Heather Tesch. Out of all of them I'm concerned for Heather. :(

I feel pretty confident that none of those are going anywhere.

Maybe Sharon, Vivian, and Kim, but I doubt about any of the others.

Jeff is on First Outlook... ratings for that show are rather high. Plus I think he also occasionally reports out in the field.

You guys crack me up.

Look, from my discussions with my contact, I feel pretty sure that we've seen all the layoffs we're likely to see. Another round is highly unlikely.

I sure hope you are right, Gary.  These layoffs have been depressing news for far too long.

I don't see how they COULD eliminate anyone else, unless they intend to bring some of the folks from NBC aboard. Otherwise, they'd be impossibly shorthanded.
