Is Alex Wallace (somewhat) new? I don't think I've ever heard of/seen him before. :dunno:

Alex mainly does the video forecasts on weather.com; his TV appearances are pretty much during the low ratings hours since he's not that experienced.

Who do you think will working this
Weekend?  Will it be the normal cast?

When do any of you think we'll be in Storm Alert?

Basically it seems they're using the rigid criteria of cat 3 (or a cat 2 affecting a major city) in order to go into Storm Alert. Given the reduced weekend OCM staff, they would most likely have to bring in one or two weekday teams (or maybe folks like Warren and Ryan) to cover some hours if they're in Storm Alert on Sunday.

BTW, has Ryan Goswick been in HD yet?

Yea, I'd assume they learned their lesson from The two (Alberto and Ernesto, iirc) last year.

But there is no doubt, especially if he goes by New Orleans, that there will be a storm alert.  Could be wrong, but it is a very good possibility.

I know I havn't seen Goswick in HD yet..

I have seen everyone in HD but Ryan Goswick and Ray Stagich. If he's even still there.

so, i'm watching EEWC and the HD cameras are going crazy, and at 12:22am, Sharon Resultan is so short that the IS bar is about to her elbows.

Ray Stagich is actually still there, and he did his first full show in HD this past Saturday alongside Cheryl Lemke.

Warren Madden, however, I have not seen in HD.

Logically, they won't. We might see the afternoon long-form on Saturday, but I would think everything would be preempted by Sunday.

Two things, both regarding the Weekly Planner:

1. Today was the first time I've seen them use the "globe" Weekly Planner maps while not up at the video wall. Since there only seems to be an HD version of these maps, the West Coast and New England got cut off in SD.

2. I believe yesterday or today has been the first time we've seen snow on the precipitation maps. I can already see a problem with this. Since the maps at the video wall are already so washed out, the snow on the map was almost undiscernable from the various shades of green they use on the map.

Okay gang, got a question.  Do we know if the lightbar around the screens (that replaced the greenscreens) changes color?  I'm seeing serious possibilities if it does.

I don't believe we've seen any evidence of that thus far, but I catch your drift. :)

There's a moon in the background of the full-screen graphics that are used for camera splits and info screens? I never knew that before!

Tonight at the end of A&B, I noticed that the underside of their desk had red lighting to it. Has it always been like that?
