AFAIK, the HD STAR is not going to be called IntelliSTAR HD, from what I've heard.

We don't know. And, yes. Think of TWC HD as a completley different weather channel.

How come HD lower thirds don't cover up the whole width of the screen on an HDTV? They just show on the center of the screen?

Probably because the lower thirds aren't pure HD yet.

The new HD star will no be an IntelliSTAR, all the public has name wise is "HD STAR" :)
